The tender Tennessee voice won over the hearts of country music lovers all over the world. People hurry to buy the tickets as soon as the tour dates are announced, considering how quickly the seats are sold out.
Such is the charm of Chris Stapleton, who reigns the countryside even after decades in the music industry. But his beginnings are as humble and inspiring as they can be.
Stapleton originally hails from Kentucky, was born in Lexington, but grew up in Staffordsville. He later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue engineering, but his heart called out for something else. While in Tennessee, he decided to give his vocal chops a chance, auditioned for various labels, and eventually signed with Mercury Nashville.
Stapleton started as the frontman for the bluegrass group SteelDrivers and later founded the Southern rock band The Jompson Brothers. Meanwhile, his solo career took off with his debut studio album, “Traveller,” which earned him several awards, including three from the Country Music Association for Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.
There was no looking back for the star after 2015, as each of his albums entered the Billboard charts and dominated for a considerable period.
His recent single “White Horse,” released in July, reached No. 7 on Hot Country Songs and No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. And now the country singer was preparing to release his fifth studio album, Higher.
The eight-time Grammy winner prepared a special concert, the All-American Road Show, as a gratitude for his fans. However, the singer faced a major challenge while rehearsing for the forthcoming tour.
On October 12, 2023, Chris Stapleton posted on his Instagram that the recent tour dates were canceled. He states that he has been suffering from bronchitis and laryngitis, and the doctor has advised him to rest his vocal cords over the weekend. However, the good news is that the canceled dates are rescheduled for November 16 – Lafayette, LA; November 17 – Houston, TX; and November 18 – Corpus Christi, TX.
What Happened to Chris Stapleton?
Stapleton’s doctors advised him to rest his voice to heal it entirely over the weekend. The combined effect of bronchitis and laryngitis took a major toll on the beloved country singer, as he was also seen struggling through a New York tour over the weekend.
Laryngitis causes inflammation and swelling of vocal cords, making voice almost undetectable. Meanwhile, bronchitis causes phlegm and inflammation in the main airways, with critical symptoms including coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
Why Did Chris Stapleton Cancel His Show?
Stapleton had to cancel his show over the weekend as the doctor advised him to rest his inflamed and irritated vocal cords to recuperate fully.
However, instead of canceling the tour dates for Lafayette, Houston, and Corpus Christi, the concert is simply rescheduled for November 16, 17, and 18. You can get more info on how you can claim your current tickets for the postponed dates.
