Chris Hayes made a name for himself as a political pundit with progressive viewpoints.
Born on February 28, 1979, in the Bronx, New York, Hayes majored in Philosophy and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 from Brown University. With philosophy teaching someone how to think, Hayes developed a penchant for analyzing politics, journalism, and activism.
Hayes began his journalism journey as a writer for the Chicago Reader, covering local and national politics. His career progressed exponentially in printed media as a senior editor at In These Times, then became a Schumann Center Writing Fellow, followed by his stint as a Puffin Foundation Writing Fellow at The Nation Institute.
His articles resonated with the voices of the liberal community while focusing on the issues of the Democratic Party.
Hayes entered the visual media with The Rachel Maddow Show in July 2010. Soon, he became the MSNBS favorite, hosting a plethora of shows, including The Ed Show, Countdown With Keith Olbermann, and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.
In 2010, an opportunity presented itself for Hayes after Keith Olberman was suspended for political opinions. But MSNBSC was unaware that Hayes shared similar viewpoints and withdrew him from being Olberman’s successor on the show. Still, Maddow endorsed Hayes throughout his career, which he credits her for.
A year later, MSNBC announced that Hayes would host the morning slot 2-hour show Up With Chris Hayes. After three more years, MSNBC gave a time slot to Hayes, formerly covered by Ed Schultz, making the 34-year-old as the youngest host of a prime-time show.
The popular show “All In With Hayes” garnered him accolades for his political analysis, and he also made frequent appearances on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” He also hosts a widely known podcast, “Why Is This Happening,” featuring influential names in politics, journalism, activism, and more.
But in the past few months, people have noticed Chris Hayes’s absence from Monday episodes on MSNBC, raising suspicions about whether he left the network. However, it is confirmed that he is still associated with MSNBC and has just taken a break from the tight schedules to spend time with his family.
