Everything Meghan Trainor does goes viral. While it’s good news for her songs, it’s not so great for her controversial statements. Recently the singer dropped the F-bomb in her podcast, which did not land well with the public.
To be more specific, she said, “F*** teachers.” This alone is enough to make people start raging, especially in today’s world, where anything can be taken out of context and used as a solo clip to generate views and hatred.
The good news is that Meghan did apologize for her mistake. It was probably driven by the hate comments she received as well as the widespread criticism.
Teachers have always taken the brunt of society. Do they really deserve to get cursed on public platforms by famous singers?
Why would Trainor say something so controversial? It’s time to put on your thinking hat as I am about to give you some context on the entire ordeal.
What Did Meghan Trainor Say Against Teachers and Why?
Everything started when an influencer Trisha Paytas shared her experience with schools on Meghan and her brother Ryan’s podcast, ‘Workin’ On It.’
It turns out that both Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, were bullied in school. Daryl was bullied because he was a child actor in Spy Kids. This made the singer pour hatred over schools, the principal involved with the bullying incident as well as teachers.
Meghan further went on to comment on how horrendous it is to send children in America to schools owing to the massive amount of school shooting incidents. “Everyone on TikTok is like, ‘This is what it’s like having kids in America. I have a bulletproof backpack.’ I was like, fk all that … Fk teachers, dude.”
Immediately afterward, she praised the teachers of her own kids. The singer also revealed her plans to homeschool her children. While everyone understands why she fears sending her children to school, the comment about teachers was still unwarranted.
While Trainor cursed at teachers specifically because teachers didn’t save her and her husband from bullying, the statement was too generalized for anyone to like it. This generalization of teachers made her come under fire, and she corrected her mistake as soon as she realized it.
The criticism doesn’t end here because Trainor also bashed public schools in her podcast. The YouTube video of the podcast is filled with comments about the statements against teachers and the fact that many can’t afford private schools, so public schools are their only option.
Did Meghan Trainor Apologize to Teachers?
After the clip from the podcast was highlighted, the singer apologized: “Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said ‘F teachers’ on the podcast, and it’s not how I feel,” “I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific.”
As a celebrity, her words and actions matter as they are projected to a huge mass of the population.
Meghan’s apology video on TikTok contained the following message:
“I am sorry for being careless with my words. I LOVE teachers, and I am here for you. Let’s work to make schools a better place together.”
Only a few are satisfied with just an apology, and they claim that actions speak louder than words.
So what do you think will make the situation better? Should the podcast be deleted altogether, or is the apology enough for the hatred she spewed toward a driving community of humankind?
