A release date has now been established for the 20th anniversary of the original Naruto anime, which will be returning with new episodes. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original anime’s debut, Masashi Kishimoto’s hugely successful Naruto franchise launched the celebration last year.
Since then, fans have been treated to a variety of entertaining initiatives. The first season of the Naruto television anime began airing in October 2002 and ran until 2007, while the second season of Naruto Shippuden began airing in 2007 and ran until 2017.
Studio Pierrot will start airing a few older episodes of the Naruto animation in Japan in July in recognition of the franchise’s milestone, followed by four brand-new episodes in September.
The New Naruto Anime Plot
The narrative of Naruto centers on the orphan Naruto Uzumaki, whose parents were ninjas who resided in Hidden Leaf Village. Naruto starts his studies in the town’s nearby ninja academy, determined to one day hold the position of Hokage or village leader.
Naruto becomes one of the finest ninjas of his time despite being surrounded by peers from strong and prominent ninja clans and having one of the terrifying animals in ninja legend locked inside him as a jinchuriki.

What Will The New Naruto Anime Be About?
Sadly, it hasn’t yet been made clear what to anticipate from the newest Naruto episodes either. A narrative summary or prospective returning characters have yet to be revealed as of this writing, except the announcement that there would be four new episodes of the classic anime and that they are celebrating their 20th anniversary.
But because there will be brand-new Naruto episodes in September, we will soon learn more about this significant reappearance.
In October, three new images for the Naruto anime were released via the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations show’s official Twitter account. These images offer a sneak preview of what viewers might anticipate from the newest episodes.
The images pay homage to the anime’s first season by featuring Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura in their original attire. Fans will experience a sense of nostalgia when they see this nod to the beginning of Naruto.
How Many Episodes Will The New Naruto Anime Have?
Previously, Naruto had stated that it would be returning for four new episodes with the series’s original cast for the anime’s 20th anniversary. Still, it had yet to specify a release date. Fortunately, this has changed because the Naruto anime franchise’s official account has revealed that these new episodes will premiere on Sunday, September 3, in Japan.
However, information regarding a worldwide release or streaming schedule for the new Naruto anime has yet to be publicized.
The successor series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, is the most recent addition to the Naruto canon. The following generation of ninjas, including Boruto, Naruto’s son, and his pals, are followed in the series.
Both the manga and anime adaptations of Boruto debuted in May 2016 and April 2017, respectively. Masashi Kishimoto, the guy behind the Naruto manga, took over as the Boruto manga’s author in November 2020.
The New Naruto Anime Release Date
The official Naruto Twitter account announced the upcoming project on Sunday, July 2, 2023. This follows a previous announcement of the project on the JUMP FESTA Super Stage in December 2022. On September 3, 2023, the new four-episode anime special is scheduled to premiere, with Studio Pierrot producing the animation.
More title information will be available as the release date approaches. As of this writing, all that is known about the project is that it will be launched on September 3 and is a new anime.
