The Superman animated series has always been a hit formula for the makers, and the same happened with Adult Swim and Max’s My Adventures with Superman. In the first season, watching the classic story of the Man of Steel going up against some new and familiar villains proved to be a hit for the makers.
The series is developed by Jake Wyatt and produced by Warner Bros. the series revolves around Clark Kent, Louis Lane, and Jimmy Olsen. They dealt with various threats in Metropolis, all while trying to succeed as reporters in Daily Planet, and the first season came to an end.
While the season 1 finale showdown featured the ultimate showdown between Clark Kent, General Lane and introduced another classic Superman villain, General Zod, it was no less than a perfect scene. The speculations for its other season are high as no official word has been given by the makers.
Co-producer Josephine Campbell discusses Season 2 and teases the future of the animated hit, but we never know what might happen.
When Will The My Adventures with Superman Season 2 Release?
In a recent conversation, My Adventures With Superman co-producer and writer Josephine Campbell provided an update on when Season 2 might drop following the success of the first season. She did confirm exactly when Season 2 would debut but mentioned that it was developed and made around the same time as Season 1. She also teased that it would “blow people’s minds.”
It can be assumed that the show is definitely aiming to return for a second season, potentially as soon as early 2024. As she commented how there is not much work left for season 2, the question arises of how the Max and Adult Swim will do in terms of promoting the series if the ongoing SAG AFTRA Strike.
What Will Be The Plot Of My Adventures with Superman Season 2?
The ending of season 1 gave a glimpse of how viewers can expect more of General Zod in future seasons. The finale showed the Kryptonian robot that was leading Krypton’s armada against Earth, reporting back to its leader. It also confirmed that the Kryptonian who invaded Earth 22 years ago is General Zod. The storyline might evolve as Clark Kent progresses from his internship at the Daily Planet.
Interestingly enough, the secret villain does not remove his helmet, and they say that Earth will eventually “kneel.” This is a reference to the iconic line “Kneel before Zod,” used in previous Superman movies such as Superman II and many other adaptations.
Villains In My Adventures with Superman Season 2
If the viewers think that Zod would be the only villain, they might be mistaken. It is clear that General Zod is leading the army that attacked Earth, but My Adventures With Superman episode 10 also hinted at Brainiac being involved in some capacity. In other versions, such as the DC Animated Universe timeline, Brainiac was created in Krypton.
With all that, it seems to be going with the latter, as the Kryptonian robots that fought Superman all spotted Brainiac-like designs. Even in season 1 of My Adventures With Superman, the villains were mostly tech-based, meaning Brainiac would fit just fine.
Cast Of My Adventures with Superman Season 2
The Adult Swim and Warner Bros.’ Max streaming service spun up a fresh animated take on the iconic hero in “My Adventures with Superman,” which follows a younger version of the hero as he starts to make a name for himself in Metropolis.
The makers might not bet upon changing the cast of the first season as it had an impressive cast to tell new stories about the titular DC hero.
Assumingly, they will stick to its old actors who have lent their voices to the DC characters. Some of the previously associated actors are mentioned below who might reprise their roles in My Adventures with Superman Season 2.
- Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Superman.
- Alice Lee as Lois Lane.
- Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.
- Michael Emerson as Brainiac.
- Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
- Reid Scott as Pa Kent.
- Chris Parnell as Slade Wilson / Deathstroke.
- Jason Marnocha as Jor-El.
While the second season is yet to be announced, My Adventures With Superman season 1 is available to stream on Max.
