Before getting into the actual video, I want to present a perspective– answer the following questions honestly before scrolling further. Consider this as the context of the video–
We all have searched for product reviews before buying it. But how often have you searched for a review that details the results?
How many times did you search for picture evidence for the product?
Do you specifically search for a video review for a product?
Have you ever searched for tips for maintaining/grooming your intimate areas?
How many times did you wish someone did a step-by-step tutorial for hair removal?
Did you search for before and after results for a product?
Are you fed up with paid reviews that misguide the viewers?
Would you rather click on a video that talks about the product or a video that demonstrates the usage?
Your answers will bring a perspective to the video in question.
What Is Kevin Leonardo Nair’s Hair Removal Video?
Kevin Leonardo is Youtuber/content creator and also belongs to the LGBTQ+ community. His videos are categorized as educational since he posts tutorials on various topics, including sex education, grooming and self-care tips, heart-to-heart on being a gay Asian, traumatic past, and more.
He started creating videos around 2020-2021 and has consistently posted on Youtube since. He has amassed a considerable following with over 68K Youtube subscribers.
Note: The video contains literal butt showcasing. So, consider it a fair warning from us.
On 26 June, Kevin Leonardo uploaded a video titled, “Removing BUTT HAIRS Using NAIR Cream – A Visual Guide!” As the title suggests, the video demonstrates a step-by-step guide and review of a hair removal cream brand called Nair. An average viewer would click the video expecting a censored version or simply a verbal presentation of the product.
But the internet experienced a collective whiplash when random frames appeared between the video. To give a brief idea– Kevin bared his posterior, and that’s putting it mildly!
But before you board the judgment train, remember how you answered the above questions about how you would prefer a product review. And Kevin has delivered on the authenticity of the review.
This is the only video in Youtube history that is a “reverse clickbait.” Because Kevin’s demonstration is far more graphic than the title leads us to believe. The video is a presentation of the following highlights–
- Demo of how to use the product.
- Before and after results of the usage.
- Subjective opinion on how it feels after using the product
- And a bare derrière
Internet Reacts to Kevin Leonardo Nair Hair Removal Video
This video was shared on TikTok as well, without any context.
Hence, there are two sets of extremely opposing reactions to this video.
ONE SPECTRUM OF REACTIONS:
Tiktok and Twitter are berserk over the video for the extreme shock value. Since this demographic is unaware of Kevin’s other videos, the general perception is that he did it for clout. Here are some reactions from Twitter–
“if yall do anything, don’t search up kevin leonardo nair video on yt.”
“I traumatised myself watching that certain Kevin Leonardo yt video, and I fully regret it, Iykyk.”
“Curiosity really killed the cat because how is that Kevin Leonardo video up on YOUTUBE.”
OTHER SPECTRUM OF REACTIONS:
Meanwhile, the responses to his Youtube video paint a completely different outlook, where people are appreciating his honesty and courage to review with authentic evidence. Here are a few comments under his video–
“THIS IS THE MOST HONEST REVIEW OF A PRODUCT SO FAR”
“Gotta give him full props for his tutorial getting straight to the point and literally showing results on it.”
“Honest review. This is what we honestly need. Especially confused teenagers who are to scared to ask parents!”
“I would be really sad if this channel gets taken down. The internet needs more helpful things for the everyday person without catering to if kids could see it or not. I really appreciate these kind of tutorials and they can help so many people.”
“I honestly can’t even say anything. He’s honestly to the point and the title says “detailed”. I feel like a lot of people might be self-conscious about their ass hair. He actually went on camera and gave us a full review.”
“Nah, a lot of people might say “we don’t need this”, “too much info”, and other stuff but the others who need it are probably praising him for this and his bravery. Even nurses and doctors can’t learn just by simple books and silicone practice bodies. Don’t watch it if you’re so easy to traumatize and if you ever do watch it. Don’t blame him for your “curiosity”.”
“honestly, i was completely shocked at first (esp since its on youtube), but at the end of the day this was actually a rlly helpful video, like it was pretty much straight to the point. Again, VERY shocked, but also helpful.”
“I like this tutorial, really informative and I really love the straight-forwardness of this man. Not many people would be capable of showing their chocolate-starfish for the internet and for the people. LOVE YOU KEVINNN”
Regardless of the reactions, the video now has over 9 million views on Youtube and is also restricted under community guidelines.
Kevin has been a good sport to this whole situation as he reacted to some of the comments–
Who Owns Nair Hair Removal? Is Nair Hair Removal Safe to Use?
NAIR is a coined term for “No Hair.” Church and Dwight, an American consumer goods company for personal care, manufacture this hair removal product.
Nair has been proven safe for hair removal since its launch in 2007. There are several hair removal products under this brand, also variable to the skin type.
But one should exercise precaution by first applying the cream to a small patch on your body to determine whether you are sensitive/allergic to the cream. However, Kevin’s video proves that the cream is indeed effective.
