Dr. Ramune: Mysterious Disease Specialist or Kai Byou Ramune is an anime about mysterious diseases, as you might have gathered from the title. However, don’t be misguided; it’s not about a rare cancer or cold.
The characters can grow vegetables as their private parts or fingertips turn into chilies! What hospital would treat such weird diseases? Thankfully, Dr. Ramune is present for these unfortunate souls. Let’s say they are unfortunate because they have to deal with the eccentric doctor on top of their painful conditions.
Enough with the spoilers; let me give you the final push to watch this anime finally.
Dr. Ramune Plot
Dr. Ramune specializes in mysterious diseases that baffle regular doctors. This eccentric doctor provides unique ways to solve the problems of his patience, but sometimes the cures can also backfire on them.
In the first episode, Ramune encounters a girl who cries condiments. Depending on her emotions, child actress Koto cries ketchup, mayonnaise, or soy sauce. Ramune discovers that she has an abusive mother who pressures her to work. All her repressed emotions come out in the form of condiments.
In the subsequent episodes, Ramune treats several people who have been affected by mysterious diseases. The cures bring out their authentic selves, and exploitative people get adverse effects from the medicines.
