Imagine getting between an abuser and a victim without actually knowing anything about why you were dragged into it. That’s precisely what happened to Usher this Wednesday.
A conversation secretly recorded by Keke Palmer’s ex-partner, Darius Jackson, while he was arguing with her mom, Sharon Palmer, made rounds on social media, and apparently, she called Usher gay. So, is Usher really gay?
No. Usher is not gay, and he never implied that he was. Keke Palmer’s mother called Usher gay to stop Darius from abusing her daughter, whom he apparently suspected to be serenaded by Usher during her stay in Las Vegas. Sharon Palmer confirmed it was a lie by commenting on an Instagram post of The Neighbourhood Talks.
Is Usher Gay? Why Did Keke Palmer’s Mother Say He Is One?
To get a clear picture of why Usher was involved in a complicated relationship between a couple, you need to be updated about what happened between Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson.
So, Palmer, the popular singer, has recently accused her ex-boyfriend of physically and emotionally abusing her, and a temporary restraining order was issued following her request.
While they have been constantly arguing about their relationship, Keke Palmer’s mother, Sharon Palmer, took a stand against Jackson to save her daughter from any more trauma.
In a recently leaked conversation from an audio call, she accused Jackson of harassing her daughter, Keke, and having mental problems but unexpectedly brought up the topic of Usher.
A few months ago, Keke Palmer reportedly attended Usher’s concert and also appeared in his music video, Boyfriend, due to which her ex-partner, Jackson, began accusing her.
So, during her call, Sharon Palmer called out that Usher is gay and further quoted it to make sure Jackson wouldn’t bring up the topic anymore. However, the recorded audio call has been anonymously leaked to social media.
Following the criticism, Keke’s mother commented on a post by The Neighbourhood Talk and clarified what she said about Usher was a lie, and she did that to stop Darius from abusing her daughter out of jealousy. In her words,
“The lie I told about Usher was to get Darius to stop abusing my daughter on account of his jealousy. So I said he didn’t like women for her SAFETY. Everything else I meant with my chest, and I didn’t expect anyone to hear it because recording me is illegal. I guess he is okay with jail, but I knew that when he put his hands on my daughter. He is still abusing her in all of this, trying to paint himself as a victim. Textbook behavior.”
How Did People React to the Lie About Usher Being Gay?
Usher was basically dragged into the conversation for no reason, and fans were quick enough to react to the incident. That being said, the reactions were pretty much mixed.
While many of Usher’s fans backed up the singer by posting memes about how Usher would react to being accused of something that he is not, there were also others who expressed their personal view on the situation. Here are some reactions:
