If you have played Skyrim, you will know how Bethesda creates vast, rich RPG games for gamers to explore, and their latest project Starfield is no different.
Their latest trailer gives us a brief glimpse of the sheer size of the upcoming title. While this is more than what we asked, the revelation that players will have the ability to explore over 1000 planets has sparked curiosity within the community about the potential inclusion of multiplayer or co-op features.
However, Starfield does not have multiplayer or co-op features. There has been no official announcement from Bethesda Game Studios regarding the inclusion of multiplayer in Starfield, and there are no indications that multiplayer will be available on any platform.
Although multiplayer could be added to the game after launch, it appears uncertain based on available information.
Why Is There No Multiplayer?
From what we saw in the trailer, Bethesda is saying that multiplayer would not align with the game’s overall concept. Instead, they are focusing on delivering a single-player narrative as players travel across space, encountering new factions and characters, managing and customizing their spaceships and settlements, and unraveling the fate of humanity.
Since there is a release for the PC, the modding community might develop a multiplayer mod for the game similar to Skyrim Together.
Does It Support Crossplay?
If Bethesda announces a multiplayer component to the game after its initial release, it will only be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. So, gamers with a PlayStation cannot play with their friends on Xbox and PC.
Will Starfield Be on PC?
Yes, Starfield will be available on PC. You can check out the game’s minimum and recommended specifications to ensure your PC can run it smoothly.
The requirements for the game are light, which is reasonable considering the game’s scale. If you have a graphics card released after 2017, you should be able to play the game at a decent frame rate, provided you turn down some settings. If you own a graphic card released around 2019 or after, you should not be good to go.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for a relatively well-optimized and bug-free game on release.
Will Starfield Be on PS5?
Starfield will not be coming out on PS5.
Since the third iteration of the Elder Scrolls series (Morrowind), this is the first Bethesda game that will not be available on the PlayStation platform. Due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, the chances of Starfield being released on PlayStation platforms are highly unlikely.
So, players who are on the PlayStation platform will have to get the game on their PC or Xbox to be able to play the game.
Will Starfield Be on Game Pass?
If you’re already a Game Pass subscriber, you’re in luck. Game Pass subscribers do not need to preorder Starfield separately. The game will be available on release as part of your subscription.
For PC gamers who do not have Game Pass, the title is available for preorder on Steam. According to the Steam page for the game, it is scheduled to be released on the 6th of September, 2023.
While September is not that far away, you can look at these games to keep yourself occupied till then.
