Fans on social media have been going crazy for a reboot of an age-old western outlaw film.
The internet seems to believe that a new remake of 1993’s Tombstone is in the works. New posters and release dates are being seen, and people just cannot contain their excitement.
Some saw Matthew McConaughey in the lead role while a few other posters show Jamie Foxx and Will Smith in these promotional arts, but the truth is far from what we see on social media platforms.
There is no remake of 1993’s Tombstone in the works. The poster circulating on Facebook and Twitter featuring Matthew McConaughey, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and other star actors is a fan-made one. Neither the actors nor any studio officially announced anything related to Tombstone.
So, why is this gaining more and more eyeballs?
With Matthew McConaughey as Wyatt Earp and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Doc Holiday, the fan-made poster suggests an August 2024 release for the Tombstone remake.
For many, the film Tombstone is considered one of the best Western movies to come out. Be it the one-liners or the musical score that just hit you when the time came, this is a classic difficult to remake.
Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer were in the lead roles, and when fans see something like this with the names of Matthew McConaughey, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Will Smith, it excites them, and be it real or fake, they just share the poster with others.
While it is not impossible to reboot the old Western classic, Tombstone is set in an age and era the current TikTok-loving audience might not want to watch.
Also, none of the actors mentioned in these posters are without any projects. They all are working on something or the other, but it’s just not a new remake of Tombstone.
I really hope we get an all-out Western old-law-style film, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Do you want to see a potential Tombstone reboot, or will Hollywood once again spoil everything it touches in the name of bringing back the classics?
