Kim Petras Transformation Journey
Before becoming the first trans person to win a Grammy, Kim Petras was born in Cologne, Germany. Her birth name was Tim at the time, and by the time she was two years old, she had begun to express interest in things that boys typically do not demand from their parents. Kim was coming to terms with her original identity at a very early age.
Talking to a popular tabloid, Kim revealed she was crazy about the then-popular toy, the Bratz doll. Her parents found the toy revealing and inappropriate and thus refused to give in to their child’s demands.
To this day, Kim still remembers why it was so important to her to own a Bratz doll; she told People magazine that she used to see herself in the doll and aspired to be one.
Around the age of five, she started hating her body. She always felt like a girl and could never identify as a boy. Simply put, Kim suffered from being stuck in the wrong body. Fortunately, her parents, who never let her buy the Bratz dolls, understood that something was wrong and their child needed help.
However, apart from her parents, no one came out in support of her. She was often bullied at school by her classmates and teachers. The problems she suffered in her early years led her to seek help from a psychologist.
By age twelve, she had legally changed her name to Kim. As soon as puberty struck and her voice changed, she started her transformation journey.
All this made her quite famous in Germany; she was quickly identified as the youngest individual to transform from male to female. She started hormone replacement therapy at the age of 12.

Over time, she worked on herself and made more contacts. Gradually, Kim got offers to write songs for Fergie and Rihana. Her claim to fame was the hit number – I Don’t Want It At All ft. Paris Hilton.
Despite having a smash hit, Kim stayed away from labels and became an independent pop artist. This was because whenever a label approached Kim, they either wanted her to talk about her sexuality or hide it entirely.
Speaking to HuffPost, Kim revealed that she doesn’t want to use her sexuality cards to win hearts and wishes to keep it real like the music is supposed to be.

You need to remove the photo you’ve used in the thumbnail. That isn’t a past photo of Petra. That is a photo of a friend of mine that I grew up with who sadly took their own life. This isn’t the first time their photo has been used in this way and it’s disgusting.
