After a bizarre incident that has sent shock waves across the internet, a submarine named Titan was sent by Oceangate along with five expeditors to explore the wrecks of Titanic.
It’s been four days since the submarine dived deep into the sea, and now there’s scarce scope of it coming back to the surface; at least, that’s what experts all over the world are arguing.
As independent search operations are underway to bring the five-passenger tourists back safely, among many who said that a possible implosion could result in the submarine being damaged into pieces, Dr. David Gallo suggested the same after the submarine lost signal and radio communication.
As per the latest updates on the issue, experts have quoted that if at all, the submarine is not imploded and the expeditors are still onboard, chances are, there are left with a few hours of oxygen, and the situation is as critical as it may get.
While Oceangate, a Washington-based company, has shared a history of developing industrial, research, and exploration submersibles, it has also launched several other deep-sea explorations.
How Many Times Has Oceangate Been to the Titanic?
While this isn’t Oceangate’s debut expedition to the Titanic, the American-based company has sent a total of three submarines to locate the Titanic shipwreck so far on a yearly basis. Starting from 2021, Oceangate has sent submersibles into the deep sea after more than 50 test dives, a report by Sky News confirmed.
Titan’s communication works in a manner that it is designed to send signals in the form of messages ashore that it is safe approximately four times every hour. It is to note that this is the only way that the submarine communicates, as there is no GPS for the offshore operators to track the vessel.
In a similar incident in 2022, Titan apparently went missing a few hours after it delved into the sea, only to establish a connection again within three hours. Although the vessel gained contact, the expedition was called off, only for it to repeat on a much larger scale this year.
What Is the Mystery Behind Submarines Missing?
With the fate of the passenger tourists onboard still unpredictable, many have pointed out that most expeditions to Titanic have always gone for a toss. The internet is full of claims that Titanic was jinxed way before it sailed; many believe the curse associated with the horrifying accident still lives on.
It is alleged that the curse linked with Titanic, which took more than 1,500 people’s lives, continues to spread its jinx as submarines like Titan continue to disappear.
Although these references hold no evidence to suggest any intentional connection with Titanic, the legend that surrounds such dark incidences is also quite spine-chilling.
A Twitter user also pointed out how the designer of Titanic sank with it, just like the CEO of Oceangate, who went missing with it.
Right from the iconic fire that broke out right before the Titanic took off in 1912 to the rumors that a voodoo Mummy traveling onboard Titanic shaped the sequence of unfortunate events, all these have only added to the theory that Titanic was, true, cursed and the jinx has been surrounded it ever since.
Do you also think Oceangate’s Titan was jinxed by Titanic?
If so, do you think it would be able to escape the century-long curse? Or do you think the rescue operations will be fruitful? Let us know your opinion on this!
