Marvel confirmed Gamora would return for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with amnesia issues at their mind-blowing 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.

Since her first appearance in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, she has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She was one of Thanos’ two powerful daughters and a force to be reckoned with as she grudgingly followed his orders.
She did, however, become one of the MCU’s greatest heroes after joining the titular team of misfits with Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Rocket Raccoon, Drax, and the original Groot.
How Did Gamora Come Back to Life?
Gamora didn’t return. The Gamora that appears at the end of the film and comes back to life is a former version of the character who existed before she was sacrificed. The same reason Thanos is still present even though he was killed at the film’s beginning.
In Vormir, Thanos sacrificed her to obtain the Soul Stone, adding to his collection of Infinity Stones in his quest to wipe out half of the universe.
The snap occurred after Thanos had obtained all the stones, indicating that he had received the soul stone, confirming Gamora’s death.
The Gamora that we see in the present timeframe is the same one that traveled with Thanos, Nebula, and other characters from the 2014 timeline, which is also the one in which Natasha of the present timeline died.
It gets a little complicated, so let me explain in detail.
Natasha is still alive in the present timeline of 2023, but Gamora has passed away because she was killed by Thanos for the Soul Stone five years ago, as shown in the Avengers: Infinity Wars.
In the attempt to reclaim the Soul Stone, Natasha and Hawkeye time travel to 2014, creating a parallel timeline in which they discover exact replicas of those who had previously existed there and find Gamora to be still alive.
Natasha gave her life to retrieve the Soul Stone, passing away in the 2014 timeline.
The portal was then reversed and opened for Thanos, Gamora, the good Nebula of 2023, and others from the 2014 period to go to the original timeline when the evil Nebula of 2014 traveled back to the original 2023 timeline. As a result, Natasha from 2023 is now dead in the 2014 timeline, and Gamora from 2014 is currently alive and back with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
How Is Gamora Alive but Not Black Widow?
Why did Gamora return but not Black Widow, even though they both died in the same way?
The main reason is that Gamora died in Vormir before Thanos’ snap, whereas Natasha died after Thanos’ snap.
Further, Black Widow cannot be awakened since she has passed away and not merely due to the snap.
The Avengers made a point of not causing harm to other timelines; thus, while they technically could have retrieved her from the past, doing so might have destroyed the timeline they took her from.
Also, the stone’s rules restrict bringing anyone back from the grave, and the Gamora you’ll see in phase 5 is from a different era from the 2014 timeline.
