Jane apparently had also sustained a minor stroke in the year 2021. Birkin received a diagnosis of leukemia in the year 2002 and proceeded to undergo treatments. However, despite the efforts to combat the disease, it remained persistent and continued to pose health challenges in the years that followed.
Birkin’s degenerating health was posing several issues for her lately; like her 2021 stroke that made her cancel her concerts. Last year, Birkin had got her shoulder blade injured, again causing her to cancel her shows.
Fans are relieved knowing the legend icon passed away peacefully in her Paris home in the presence of her family members.

Birkin rose to prominence in France after her collaborations with Serge Gainsbourg. Jane Mallory Birkin is a widely respected and celebrated figure in the entertainment industry.
Her impressive list of accomplishments includes being awarded the prestigious Order of the British Empire (OBE), a testament to her exceptional talent and contribution to the arts. Birkin’s collaboration with the iconic Serge Gainsbourg is particularly noteworthy, as their duet “Je t’aime… moi non plus” released in 1969, became an instant classic.

Who Was Jane Birkin Married To?
When she was only 18 years old, Birkin tied the knot with John Barry, a British composer and conductor. The couple welcomed a daughter named Kate while they were working on the musical Passion Flower Hotel. Unfortunately, their relationship came to an end in 1968.
Later on, she relocated to France, and while filming a romantic comedy, she crossed paths with Mr. Gainsbourg. Their love and musical chemistry were full of ups and downs. In one of their heated arguments, Birkin even went so far as to throw a custard pie right in Gainsbourg’s face before dramatically plunging into the river.
The couple’s daughter, Charlotte, achieved great success in the entertainment industry, excelling as both an actress and a singer. However, despite their ten-year-long relationship, Birkin still harbored feelings for Gainsbourg.
Unfortunately, their bond was eventually severed due to alcohol-induced arguments. Birkin decided to move on and start a new chapter in her life with filmmaker Jacques Doillon, with whom she then welcomed a daughter into the world.
