Fate is one of the most successful franchises in Japanese entertainment. The eroge spurred dozens of shows and light novels, which most otaku in Japan love. The characters summoned as Servants are based on mythical and historical figures of repute.
This time, it’s something else entirely. Witness a spectacle when two worlds collide; a world of reality with something abnormal.
Check out the trailer of Fate/Strange Fake.
In this PV, we see a person(Richard) with a red cape, most probably a man. He resembles a knight and a long-lost king. One can also notice the handcuff on his wrist.

At the event, Kurosaki Shizuka-san spoke briefly about the story based on a world of lies and deception. She also talked about the reach of the entire Fate series. This Fate anime is set amidst America in a fictional city called Snowfield. The director even explored the United States, particularly the deserts, to gather inspiration for this anime project. The West is a voracious consumer of anime, so it’ll be interesting to see how the setting plays out.
Albert Kan, the manager of Digital Content, announced the simulcast of subbed and dubbed episodes. Anjali Kunapaneni expressed her happiness for being cast in the central role of such an epic venture. We should be happy that a woman of Indian origin is finally going to essay a vital role in a Fate OVA. If watched by enough people, we’ll probably get to watch the entire series.
About the Fate franchise
Originally a visual novel game and an eroge, the Fate/Stay Night series became the most popular title by TYPE-MOON. It has received many different anime adaptations, covering alternate routes of the entire story.
In the visual novel, one controls the main character Emiya Shirou and chooses a single one amongst multiple women presented as potential lovers. The anime’s tone is quite obviously relaxed, even though it has bloodshed and complex philosophical ideas. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows in 2004. Then followed a series of sequels, most notably Fate/Zero, which still ranks among the greatest of all anime. Ufotable (known for Demon Slayer) first gained traction by animating Unlimited Blade Works, where the usage of color captivated viewers. Other examples would be Fate/Apocrypha, Fate/Grand Order, and so on). Fate Strange Fake will bring the overpowered Gilgamesh and the strong Enkidu together in a world where Falsehood is trying to conquer the Truth.
Well, The special episode of Fate/Strange Fake is all set to release on 31st December 2022.
