Folk-country artist Zach Bryan is one of the renowned music artists who has taken the country and American worlds by storm. He was ready to create his magic again as he came up with his self-titled album, which showcases his ever-evolving talent as both a singer and a songwriter, until the recent controversy broke out.
Zach Bryan was arrested on charges of “obstruction of investigation” in Oklahoma and jailed briefly, according to the sheriff’s office’s available online records.
A few days after earning his first No. 1 album, eponymously titled Zach Bryan, he has since bonded out of jail, a local outlet reported. After he was taken to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office in Vinita, Oklahoma, upon being detained, he was released on bond shortly after.
Why Was Zach Bryan Arrested?
The current Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping folk-country artist described on social media as an “incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.” He was booked on what was described as an “obstruction of investigation” charge, according to the sheriff’s office’s available online records.
Explaining more about the incident, Bryan revealed that he cursed the officer, who then handcuffed him and placed him in the patrol vehicle.
According to ABC News, online jail records from Craig County showed that Bryan was arrested around 6:40 PM local time after he got out of his vehicle to smoke a cigarette when the officer told him to get back inside the vehicle or be taken to jail.
“I’m just mouthing off like an idiot,” said the singer, and the officer was “just doing their job.” He revealed that he spent “a few hours” at the Craig County jail before being released on bond. He spoke to the officer and shook hands with him before leaving out of the jail.
What Did Zach Bryan Have To Say After Being Released From The Jail?
Upon his release from jail, the singer took to social media to share what really happened. He explained what led to his arrest and subsequent release from jail when he was pulled over for speeding in Oklahoma.
In a nearly 5-minute long video posted Friday morning, Bryan shared his side of what led to the arrest, saying he got in a verbal altercation with an officer after the artist’s security guard was pulled over while driving.
In the video, he was with his dog Jack “slumped out, fartin’ everywhere, I got seven Red Bulls in me and I just wanted to be completely transparent about what happened yesterday.” He called himself an idiot and acknowledged that he should not have behaved the way he did.
Was Zach Bryan At Fault During His Arrest?
According to ABC News, the police report claims that Bryan’s private security was in an SUV, and Bryan was driving a pickup truck when the SUV was pulled over for allegedly speeding. The SUV car, which had his private security, pulled over for the traffic stop in Craig County, and Bryan then pulled up next to the SUV, the report added.
Following the incident, the singer got out of the car, walked over to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Bertram, and asked, “What is taking so long.”
The Patrol Trooper Ben Bertram told the driver to get back in his truck and that he was interfering with his police duties. He also said that if he did not comply, he would be going to jail. Zach Bryan responded saying, “I’ll go to jail, let’s do it,” according to the police report received by the outlet.
With all that, let us know what you think about the incident. Do you think with fame, any celebrity can misbehave with the law enforcers? Is this an honest mistake on his part that should be ignored after all this?
