Paul starred as the main character in “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” and the TV series “Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” which further made him a household name and a trustworthy role model for children.
But a massive scandal erupted in 1991 when Reubens was arrested for indecent exposure. According to some reports, in 2001, he was alleged to have possession of Child P*rn*graphy, but the charges were reduced to obscenity, and he was given three years of probation.
Post this; he had to take exile from the entertainment industry.
On July 31, 2023, fans woke up to a few floating reports that suggested that the veteran actor and comedian had passed away. It was later confirmed that Paul Reubens, who is popularly known as Pee Wee Herman, had indeed died due to prolonged sickness at the age of 70.

“Last night, we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness. Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”

Paul Reubens was battling cancer for more than six years. He ultimately succumbed to the disease after putting in a brave fight. He hid his sufferings from the public eye for years, but he then posted an update for his fans who stood by his side even when he was not in the limelight.

“I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.”
