Aquaman 2, aka Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, will be the sequel to Jason Momoa’s DC Hero, which has been one of the most highly anticipated projects. Ahead of the release of the movie, Warner Bros. teases fans with a short 30-second glimpse that unveils fresh footage from this December’s DC movie.
As the movie teased its main characters, many are concerned about Amber Heard’s appearance in the movie. Due to her controversies from last year, the makers shortened her role, but it was confirmed that Amber is a part of the movie, and we can actually see Mera running towards the Curry house that is on fire in the latest teaser. In the new full trailer, We can clearly spot Mera trying to break Black Manta’s vessel. While many even asked to replace the actress, superhero movie enthusiasts are looking forward to the sequel to 2018’s billion-dollar hit movie.
Will Amber Heard Feature In Aquaman 2?
Ever since her controversial trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp was all over the world, she has been a victim of backlash from the netizens. Many ran campaigns and petitions to get her removed from the movie, but nothing of that sort was confirmed by the makers.
However, Amber Heard is still expecting to return as Atlantean queen Mera in Aquaman 2, despite rumors she had been replaced by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. Amber Heard is definitely in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
After being embroiled in a highly public $50m legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, the actress shot her scenes for the movie. Reportedly, her role might have been shortened due to the controversies, but her absence from the teaser did raise concerns.

Following the public defamation case, Amber Heard was surrounded by controversy, with her role in Aquaman 2 seemingly being at risk. However, Amber was seen in a short glimpse as she was seen running from afar in the shot with the burning Curry house. It appears that Queen Mera is in a similar greenish suit from the first Aquaman film.

What To Expect From Aquaman 2?
The film has been delayed many times, and its teaser does bring a sense of satisfaction to the fans. As it will be the last movie in the now-defunct DCEU, it is being said that the movie has been going through changes after the new DCU Boss, James Gunn, took over the franchise.
With the short teaser, it is certain that old characters from the movie will have a major role, along with Black Manta, played by the first movie’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, being the main villain. At least, we can hope for it.
Warner Bros has not really kicked off its marketing campaign, with the DC movie not even receiving a genuine trailer until now. However, it remains to be seen whether Aquaman has a role in the new DCU, but the actor Jason Momoa has strongly hinted at positive talks with James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is all set to release on December 20, 2023, in your nearest theatres.
