Former legendary boxer Mike Tyson has been trending recently because of one of his controversial statements. Tyson is widely considered one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time.
The boxer-turned-businessman created a world record when he won his first heavyweight title at 20, becoming the youngest boxer in history to hold the title.
Before making his professional debut, Tyson also won two Olympic gold medals in boxing in the 1981 and 1982 Junior Olympic Games.
Tyson made the headlines in the recent past after attending a conference in Miami titled Wonderland. The conference was dedicated to psychedelics, drugs, and microdosing.
While speaking to The Post about his personal experience using psychedelics, Tyson said he “died during his first trip” and realized that “death is beautiful.”
“I ‘died’ during my first trip. In my trips, I’ve seen that death is beautiful. Life and death both have to be beautiful, but death has a bad rep. The toad has taught me that I’m not going to be here forever. There’s an expiration date.”
Mike Tyson is not dead. He is alive, but he spoke about death in a metaphorical sense while describing one of his trips involving toad venom. He is physically unharmed and fit.

Mike Tyson attended Wonderland, a conference in Miami dedicated to psychedelics, medicine, and micro-dosing, on November 8 and 9, 2021. He was a chief guest and key speaker at the conference alongside Lamar Odom.
During the conference, Tyson opened up to The Post about his personal experience using psychedelics. He also talked about the long-term effects of using drugs and how he felt during his first trip.
Tyson revealed that he tried toad venom after a friend dared him to do so. As per The New York Post, Mike Tyson tripped on toad venom as many as 53 times.
“I did it as a dare. I was doing heavy drugs like cocaine, so why not? It’s another dimension. Before I did the toad, I was a wreck. The toughest opponent I ever faced was myself. I had low self-esteem. People with big egos often have low self-esteem. We use our ego to subsidize that. The toad strips the ego.”
Toad venom refers to a substance extracted from the Sonoran Desert toad. It produces a powerful hallucinogenic effect in the smoker. As per Tyson, he tried toad venom four years ago when he was reportedly suffering from depression and low self-esteem. Tyson went through a bad patch in his life as he was overweight, depressed, and struggling with his addiction.
After Tyson’s statements went viral, fans got confused as most headlines included the word “dead” next to the star’s name. This led to him trending on social media, as his statements were taken out of context. However, Mike Tyson is completely fine and breathing as of today.
