What’s your favorite band? Nirvana? Beetles? One Direction? If you are into K-pop, your answer could be BTS or BLACKPINK. Yes, there are plenty of other successful groups.

But it’s undeniable that these two groups emerging out of South Korea have the most extensive global footprint. Fans of these groups are dedicated to supporting them.

From buying albums of the groups or their individual band members to collecting merchandise as well as attending concerts, the fanbase is all in on supporting them. But what do they feel when they know one member has decided to part ways? That’s the worst heartbreak possible.

BLACKPINK fans thought this had become their reality when a Google search omitted Jisoo’s name from the group. But has the group’s lead vocalist really left the girl band that consists of her, Lisa, and Rosé? That’s what BLACKPINK fans are eager to find out.

Contrary to viral rumors and speculations, Jisoo hasn’t left BLACKPINK. The rumors originated from a Google search that only named Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé as part of BLACKPINK’s members. There has been no official confirmation from YG Entertainment or any of the members, let alone Jisoo, that she is leaving the globally adored South Korean girl group.

Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé are the heart and soul of BLACKPINK. Without any of them, the group falls apart. As such, it’s almost unfathomable for fans to imagine the band working even if one of them leaves. Yet, a faulty Google search almost gave everyone the scare of a lifetime.

Recently, rumors began circulating that Jisoo had left BLACKPINK. These speculations started thanks to a Google search for ‘BLACKPINK members’, revealing only the names of Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie. It can’t be denied that Jisoo is one of the top favorites among fans. After all, her ‘Me’ studio album sold 1.03 million copies within two days.

It became the best-selling album in South Korea by a female soloist. As expected, the rumors of Jisoo leaving made everyone panic online. But the truth is that those rumors are fake and completely false. There has yet to be any official confirmation from YG Entertainment, the group behind BLACKPINK, that Jisoo has left the girl group.

If the lead vocalist of the globally famous group did go or were planning to leave, it would have been big news online. It’s possible that there was simply a mistake in searching that led to Google mentioning only three members and leaving out Jisoo.

The group is currently on its Born Pink world tour, and Jisoo had to take some time off from performing after being diagnosed with Covid. As such, it’s possible that the search results excluded Jisoo because she wasn’t performing then.

Why Did BLACKPINK Re-Sign Their Contract with YG Entertainment?

Previously, it was rumored that possible changes are coming soon for the group since the current contract expires in August 2023. However, later the group announced that they would re-sign with their previous company, YG Entertainment.

Their decision to re-sign was probably influenced by the fact that they had recently done the most extensive international tour that any K-pop girl group had ever done. As such, within a few years of the band’s existence, they have amassed a loyal and dedicated fanbase that supports them together and individually every time.

Even the widely trashed The Idol HBO Max series with Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd was hyped online because Jennie appeared in it. TikTok has been raving about her performance too. Many have stated that one of the reasons their solo careers are flourishing is because they are connected to the global brand BLACKPINK.

Without that name, they would have struggled to advance in their careers. As such, it only makes sense that they will all stay together. During one of their recent concerts, the band hinted that they aren’t separating anytime soon. They will probably remain together until they are more renowned global personalities individually.

So what do you think about the rumors of Jisoo leaving BLACKPINK?

Is there some truth to those rumors? Or are fans panicking over nothing? Will the girl group go their separate ways in the future?
