Today’s famous personalities aren’t restricted to only Hollywood. From YouTube to Twitch and Instagram, the number of famous people has bloomed past hundreds and thousands.
After all, content creators like Mr. Beast and Pewdiepie are more prominent than many actors. Another such creator who is known on the interweb is IShowSpeed.
Famous for his reaction videos, IShowSpeed is a streamer who has won many hearts effortlessly. But his fans were left gasping and worried when it was revealed that he had been suddenly admitted to a Tokyo hospital.
Rumors soon spread about what he was admitted for as many speculated significant diseases and eyeball removal surgeries. But the rumors reached their height when people thought the streamer had died.
No, IShowSpeed is still alive and hasn’t passed away. He was recently admitted to a Tokyo hospital with a visibly swollen and drooping eye. IShowSpeed had before said that he suffered from cluster headaches.
However, his video editor and cameraman, Slipper, revealed that the doctors had diagnosed him with a severe sinus infection. The content creator is still alive and has been discharged from the hospital.
Did IShowSpeed Pass Away?
No, IShowSpeed hasn’t passed away. The internet personality was admitted to a Tokyo hospital on July 30, 2023, due to a cluster headache. Immediately after the news was released, his followers crowded the comments section of his channels on various platforms because they wanted to know what was happening. In a YouTube shorts video, IShowSpeed shared what had happened initially.
He revealed that his cluster headache didn’t allow him to sleep, eat, or do anything. It felt like it was going to kill him. The YouTuber requested everyone to pray for him. For the uninitiated, a cluster headache is rare and immensely painful, and it’s often felt on just one side of the head, centered around the eyes. Red eyes, swelling/dropping eyelids, and smaller pupils are common symptoms of this headache.
Many on the web would have seen IShowSpeed’s swollen eye by now, which accurately attests to cluster headaches’ symptoms. What’s frightening is that anywhere from two to eight headaches can happen daily, lasting anywhere from 15 mins to 3 hours.
However, IShowSpeed’s (whose real name is Darren) video editor and cameraman, Slipper, said that he had been officially diagnosed with a severe sinus infection.
He also told the fans that the doctors had assured them that IShowSpeed’s eye should be fine and the swelling should subside in a few days. Also, there wouldn’t be any blindness. Later on, Slipper confirmed that IShowSpeed had been discharged from the hospital.
He also further explained that the entire treatment, from the ambulance ride to IV drop, CT scan, and more, cost $984 only without insurance in Tokyo. Fans and followers of IShowSpeed are glad to know that he is doing well and isn’t suffering from anything permanent.
What do you think about the needless rumors spread about IShowSpeed’s health? Did fans cross the line? Or were there legitimately concerns that he might not survive?
