Some are gifted with exceptional intelligence, while some are given extraordinary athletic abilities. And then, the creator feels like playing a practical joke on all of us who are under-gifted by endowing one person with everything.
Joshua Dobbs epitomizes the jack of all trades and master of everything. Born on January 26, 1995, Dobbs became the Tennesse prodigy at just the age of 5, when he started playing organized football, first for Wesleyan School and, then, Alpharetta High School.
Dobbs, the pride of Tennesse, led his collegiate team in two back-to-back 9-4 seasons. The young quarterback was ready to thrive in the real NFL arena, given his stellar college-level achievements of 18 victories–the highest number of wins in two-year spans for his university class of 2006-2007.
But wait….be prepared to feel like an underachiever. Mr. Dobbs earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering while he was carrying the Tennesse College team on his back.
Mathing the math– Dobbs was bound to be drafted as soon as he exited the amateur play. Dobbs was drafted by the Pittsburg Steelers as the 135th overall pick in 2017.
And thus began the tale of making history in just six years.
Due to his growing popularity, Dobbs was not only covered by the sports media, but he was also stealing the spotlight for his appearance. Fans wondered what happened to the NFL star QB to lose all his hair.
Joshua Dobbs does not have cancer. The 25-year-old Minnesota Vikings Quarterback suffers from Alopecia Areata, the only reason for his hair fall. This autoimmune disorder, where one’s immune system falsely attacks the hair follicles, leads to immense hair loss throughout the body.
Did Joshua Dobbs Suffer From Cancer?
Contrary to popular belief, the evident hair loss is not the result of chemotherapy. Joshua Dobbs has never had cancer in his life so far. The young star player has been playing since he was five and has never let health restraints hamper his performance.
However, the young player has always supported cancer patients and also visited hospitals for charity.
Joshua Dobbs Struggle With Alopecia
Joshua Dobbs first noticed an abnormal amount of hair loss when he was just ten. Eventually, Dobbs was diagnosed with alopecia, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the hair follicles. The severity of this disorder may sometimes only affect the scalp and, in more extreme cases, may affect the entire body.
Dobbs’s case became critical as he aged, and he decided to shave his head while he was in his junior year of High School in 2013. The real reason why Dobbs is bald is because of alopecia and nothing else.
Ever since then, Dobbs has been propagating awareness of this disorder and helping people deal with the insecurities that come with becoming bald.
Regardless of what you think about his appearance, the young NFL Viking is making history as the only player in the NFL with three consecutive touchdown games for three different teams in a single calendar year. Now, that’s worthy of a news headline.
