The cult classic cartoon, The Simpsons, is famous for keeping people entertained for years and for the show’s eerie ability to predict the future. From the pandemic, the murder hornets, Tom Hank’s US representation to Trump’s presidency, and Lady Gaga’s Superbowl performance, the list of instances foreseen by the Simpsons is neverending.

In fact, every time a big event happens in the world, fans immediately begin searching The Simpsons for foretelling. The latest incident foretold by the Simpsons was the Oceangate submersible disaster.

As Elon Musk introduced a sudden rate limit on Twitter, its user base has started to find other microblogging sites to migrate to. Mark Zuckerberg came to our rescue in these dire conditions by introducing Threads.

This new conversation app built to rival Twitter has already gained plenty of traffic and will continue to get more users. Netizens claim that The Simpsons saw this coming as well!

Did The Simpsons Really Predict Threads App?

No, The Simpsons did not predict the availability of the Threads app. A Twitter account named ‘Everything Out of Context’ shared an image of Homer Simpson’s face on July 7. The image’s highlighted section pointed towards the design of Homer’s ear, which looked like the logo of Threads.

Twitter users were quick to debunk the myth by posting actual images of Homer where his ears have a completely different design. The initially posted image was edited.

Comparing world news to The Simpsons has become a trend that will not die out any time soon. Fans search for traces of significant events in The Simpsons, and meme creators get a kick out of it too.

The tweet by Everything Out of Context has tricked many people into thinking Homer’s ear design is similar to the Threads app logo. At the same time, others have caught onto the joke and are posting their versions of it.

Some have even commented that the M-shaped hair of Homer stands for Meta.

In its 34 seasons, the Simpsons have covered a wide range of topics, and some modern references can be found within them. However, the pop culture trend of considering The Simpsons as a foreseer is merely a joke that should not be taken seriously.
