Cyberpunk 2077 Collabs With Edgerunners Anime For A Cool Update
Cyberpunk fans, we have exciting news for all of you around the world! An update linked with the upcoming Edgerunners anime series was released Tuesday for Cyberpunk 2077.
Developed by CD PROJEKT RED, the new update (Patch 1.6) consists of a quest similar to the story in the anime, new weapons, and cosmetics. The patch notes also say that secrets related to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are to be discovered by players in the Night City. You can unlock the yellow jacket worn by the anime protagonist, David Martinez, and the “Guts” weapon by completing the Edgerunners-themed quest added in the update.
Writer Rafal Babraj said, “V and David actually have a lot in common – what exactly that is, players and viewers will have to discover for themselves.” He also stated that the game and the anime closely resemble each other.
The Quest Director Pawel Sasko explained that an anime clip is part of the quest, unleashed through the Braindance gameplay mechanic. Not only that, bug fixes and other improvements are also part of this update.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime will premiere on September 13th and will have 10 episodes, each with a runtime of 30 minutes.
Various newly revealed staff members include Hiromi Wakabayashi, who has worked on Kill la Kill and Promare. Scriptwriters such as Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (creative director behind SSSS.Gridman, SSSS.Dynazenon).
Hiroyuki Kaneko has been roped in as the assistant director, and Yusuke Yoshigaki will lend a hand in character design. The music is composed by Akira Yamaoka, who was previously linked with Silent Hill games, and the opening theme song is titled “This Fffire” which was created and performed by the rock band, Franz Ferdinand.
Rafal Jaki acts as the showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers are Yoshiki Usa, Dylan Thomas, and Taiki Sakurai. Bartosz Sztybor, Saya Elder, and Satoru Honma are producing the anime venture.

A Cyberpunk 2077 spin-off from Netflix Original brought to you by Studio Trigger. The story focuses on a street urchin looking to make his mark amidst a dystopian society plagued with body modifications and futuristic technology. He becomes an outlaw to rebel against the unfair system.
Yoh Yoshinori (Brand New Animal, Little Witch Academia) is responsible for character designs and animation, whereas Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill, Promare, Gurren Lagann) is the creative director associated with the project.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in 2020 for Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One after a series of delays and also contains a Keanu Reeves cameo. CD Projekt Red announces a full game expansion will be released in 2023.
