Caleb Farley, the 24-year-old cornerback who was drafted by the Titans in 2021, is now facing the biggest crisis of his life. An explosion at his North Carolina residence on late Monday shook his life as one of his closest family members died at the scene.
The local community, as well as the NFL community, have extended their condolences toward Farley during these challenging times. However, the void that has been left in the victim’s heart must be irreplaceable.
So how did the explosion occur? Who was impacted? Let’s find out if the Internet’s suspicion of foul play is correct or not.
Who Died in the Explosion at Caleb Farley’s House?
The explosion at the North Carolina residence of Caleb Farley killed his father, Robert M. Farley, 61. He was found dead in the debris of the house on Tuesday morning. First responders found Christian Rogers, 25, a friend of the family, leaving the structure, and was transported to a Medical Center in Charlotte.
While Rogers is still alive and suffers from a concussion, the same cannot be said about Farley’s father, and the player has received a fatal psychological blow. Rogers has not been discharged from the hospital yet and is not available for any comments at the moment.
Thankfully, Farley himself was not present during the explosion. According to teammates, he was one of the last players to leave the locker room on Monday night.
The luxurious house that is located in Mooresville’s locality has an estimated worth of $2,000,000. The explosion was so big that it resulted in shockwaves that led to a power outage.
How Did the Explosion Occur?
The explosion at Caleb Farley’s North Carolina residence is believed to be caused due to a gas leak. No foul play is suspected at the moment. According to reports, gas could have accumulated over a long period of time and found its way to an ignition source. Local authorities have ruled it as an accidental blast that originated in the bedroom.
None of the surrounding homes were damaged in the explosion, but it did total the original house.
Kent Greene, the director of fire services and emergency management, commented that they are looking into the issue of natural gas, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
Comment your sympathies and condolences in the comments, and let’s hope that Farley can heal despite his loss.
