Netflix’s live-action One Piece landed with a bang and has already attracted a large fanbase. While the manga and anime fans are not completely satisfied with the adaptation due to the shortened arcs and altered characters, newcomers to the franchise have welcomed it with open arms.
In the eight episodes, the series adapted above 90 chapters and the first five arcs. Luffy has already formed a functioning crew who have named themselves ‘The Straw Hat Pirates.’
As the first season of One Piece live-action concluded, Luffy’s group consisted of an ambitious navigator (Nami), a hot swordsman (Zoro), a perverted cook (Sanji), and a cowardly marksman (Usopp). However, the group isn’t complete yet, and veteran One Piece fans await the recruitment of a few more critical members.
Does Chopper Appear in One Piece Live-Action? When will he Debut?
No, unfortunately, Chopper does not make an appearance in the 2023 One Piece live-action. The arc in which Chopper is introduced in the manga was not adapted in season 1. He debuts in chapter 134, and the live-action adapted until chapter 95. He is likely to be seen in season 2 of the live-action.
Tony Tony Chopper appears in the Drum Island Arc of One Piece. He will later serve as the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates but is also an incredibly strong member, as he saves their hides many times.
Chopper consumed the Hito Hito i Mi devil fruit, transforming him into a human hybrid who could talk. There are still four more arcs that the live-action needs to cover before Chopper can be introduced in the story.
Since the arcs preceding Drum Island are pretty small, he might debut in the third or fourth episode of the One Piece live-action season 2.
Does Nico Robin Appear in One Piece Live-Action? When Will She Debut?
No, Nico Robin does not appear in the 2023 One Piece live-action series. Robin was first introduced in the Arabasta Arc in the manga after Chopper, and it was not adapted by season 1 of the series. She is likely to debut in season 2 of the live-action.
Nico Robin first appears in chapter 114 and episode 76 of One Piece as ‘Miss All Sunday.’ She first appeared as a major antagonist in the series who operated under the crime syndicate leader, Crocodile (Baroque Works).
Robin will eventually join the Straw Hats in chapter 218 of the manga or episode 130 of the anime. Considering how the pacing worked in the first season of the live-action, Robin might spend season 2 purely as an antagonist. She might join Luffy in season 3 of the series or at the end of season 2.
Just like all the other Straw Hat Pirates, Robin and Chopper have equal, if not more, heart-wrenching backgrounds. I hope the upcoming seasons don’t cut their stories short, as it is a massive part of their character development.
When Will Franky and Brook Appear in One Piece Live-Action?
Franky and Brooke debuted fairly late in the original One Piece franchise. It will take three to four seasons before they appear in the live-action remake.
So far, a second season of the Netflix series has not been announced yet, so we cannot confirm when the next characters will join the show.
So there you have it: the Straw Hat Pirate crew isn’t complete yet. Some more powerful and influential characters are yet to join, and if the series gets greenlit for more seasons, you will find these characters soon.
