Known also as Aubrey Drake Graham, The Boy, and Champagne Papi, Drake introduced a new alter ego inspired by his love for gambling.
This new avatar is called- Anita Max Wynn. But what is the personality of this persona? And why did the Toronto-based rapper create it?
Drake unveiled his new alter ego- Anita Max Wynn, on December 18, 2023, during a Kick stream to promote his partnership with the gambling company Stake. The name is a play on the phrase- “I need the max win,” a common gambling term. The avatar is a woman wearing a white and baby blue trucker hat.
What or Who Is Anita Max Wynn? What Is Drake Upto Again?
Drake has taken an intriguing approach to his partnership with Stake, channeling his passion for gambling into an alter ego.
During his recent Kick livestream, where he generously gifted $1 million to fans, the Toronto superstar introduced “Anita Max Wynn.” Donning a white and baby blue trucker hat, he playfully switched to a feminine accent, announcing the alter ego’s arrival.
The name “Anita Max Wynn” cleverly plays on words, resembling the phrase, “I need the max win,” a common expression in gambling circles. This alter ego has even spawned its own merchandise, including the showcased hat from the livestream.
Drake’s creative foray into the world of gambling-themed alter egos demonstrates his unique approach to collaborations.
As expected, the internet is having a field day with this announcement. Also, the Stake livestream went viral for another reason.
Filmed in Drake’s beloved vacation spot of Turks and Caicos, the artist made headlines by appearing to take a jab at Metro Boomin.
Drake began by expressing gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support in 2023 but soon shifted his tone to address his critics. He said during the stream:
“To the rest of you- the non-believers, the underachievers, the tweet and deleters- you guys make me sick to my stomach, fam. Look at my eyes- you guys wanna do something? That’s what I thought.”
This cryptic statement seemed directed at Metro Boomin, leading to Metro’s response on December 18, where he shared the viral “Whoa Calm Down Jamal, Don’t Pull Out the 9” video.
The skit humorously portrays a confrontation between Black individuals and racist white individuals on a basketball court, with the phrase, “Whoa calm down Jamal, don’t pull out the 9,” referencing a 9mm gun.
The apparent feud between Drake and Metro Boomin began when Metro subtly criticized the success of Drake’s “Her Loss” album with 21 Savage on social media.
In response to a post highlighting Metro’s “Heroes & Villains” album accumulating more streams than “Her Loss,” Metro commented that award shows were driven by politics rather than merit.
The rapper responded indirectly on his Instagram Stories, quoting JAY-Z’s lyrics and unfollowing Metro on Instagram, signaling a potential rift between the collaborators.
This public exchange has attracted attention and speculation, leaving fans curious about the two artists’ dynamics and their potential impact on their future collaborations.
So, it looks like Drake is having quite an eventful end of the year.
What are your thoughts on this new avatar of Drake? Will it last long? What do you think of this beef with Metro?
