You know your relationship’s gone downhill when an argument doesn’t just end in blocked numbers, it ends with the SWAT team outside your house.
So, Derrick Groves, a 28-year-old inmate who literally ripped a toilet off a jail wall to escape New Orleans’ Orleans Parish Justice Center back in May, has finally been caught after five months on the run.
His Hollywood-level hideout ended, ironically, because of a fight with his girlfriend in Atlanta.

According to a few reports and also the neighbors, the couple was screaming early that morning hours before police rolled up with gas canisters, flash bangs, and a good morning warrant.
Groves had been hiding in a crawl space he built himself (points for creativity, minus for ventilation). Louisiana State Police say a Crimestoppers tip led them there, though few reports swear the tip was his angry girlfriend making the call after the argument.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill confirmed Groves will face extra charges and promised he’ll be “prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
For context, Groves was serving a life sentence for a Mardi Gras block party shooting that killed two people. His other girlfriend, Darriana Burton, a former Orleans Parish jail employee, is already locked up for allegedly helping him escape.
Now it’s not confirmed whether it was his girlfriend or someother person, but man, this is hilarious if that’s what actually happened.
So the thing you all want to know….is snithing on your partner bad?
Yes….snitching’s bad unless the person you’re snitching on broke out of jail using a toilet.
Sometimes, it’s not law enforcement that catches you. It’s love, armed with Wi-Fi and bad timing.
THE WHY: CONSEQUENCE
2/5 stars on the weirdness scale because escaping prison using a toilet is wild enough, but getting caught because of an argument? That’s poetic.
