Wow….

Imagine you’re the President of the United States, mid-air on a return trip from the Middle East, after making massive international economic deals, and your next big thought is… whether Taylor Swift is still hot.

Yes, folks, welcome to Trump’s America in 2025.

On Friday, Donald Trump took a break from geopolitics and global diplomacy to jump on Truth Social with this gem: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’”

The former TV host and now-irritated president seemed to believe he had the power not only to sway elections but also to affect someone’s looks and relevance by simply declaring his distaste.

Swift, who has been relatively quiet lately after wrapping up the record-smashing Eras Tour, probably didn’t hear the comment firsthand.

She was likely still brushing off Super Bowl popcorn from her date nights with Travis Kelce. But fans definitely heard it, and they didn’t take it lightly.

“He says she’s not hot, yet he’s still obsessed,” one Swiftie wrote on X.

Others joined the fray with gems like, “Imagine thinking you’re the reason Taylor Swift lost her hotness while she’s out here breaking Spotify records,” and “This man really woke up, looked at a mirror, and thought he could throw shade?”

The internet backlash was immediate and merciless, likening Trump to a high school ex who still checks your Instagram stories. Which, to be honest, isn’t far off.

But this isn’t the first time Trump has targeted Swift.

Back in 2018, when she endorsed Democratic candidates in Tennessee, he downgraded his appreciation of her music by “about 25%.” In 2020, after Swift publicly criticized his handling of racial justice protests, things got more heated. By 2024, she endorsed Kamala Harris, and Trump went full scorched-earth: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Swift, meanwhile, kept winning. The Eras Tour grossed over $2 billion. She broke streaming records. She became the most streamed artist globally on Spotify.

In case Trump missed it while scrolling Truth Social, she also picked up six Grammy nominations this year alone.

Now, to be fair, Trump didn’t just single out Swift. In what looked like a grab-bag of celebrity gripes, he also went after Bruce Springsteen, calling him “highly overrated” and insulting his skin, because apparently the presidential standard now includes dermatology disses.

But why now? Why, amid complex negotiations in the Gulf, would Trump pivot to a pop star and a rock legend in the same breath?

Some speculate it’s strategic distraction like tossing confetti during a fire alarm.

There’s been rising scrutiny over Trump accepting a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar, a move that many called ethically dubious, and keep in mind all the tariff mess. So, naturally, it was time to stir up something shiny and stupid to pull headlines elsewhere.

What’s bizarre is that Trump has previously gushed about Swift, calling her “unusually beautiful” and admitting he doesn’t know her music but thinks she’s got “great star quality.”

But as soon as she endorsed a Democrat, his affection turned to disdain. This seems less like a critique and more like a bruised ego with Wi-Fi.

Trump sees himself as the center of all media and cultural gravity. If someone like Swift, who has transcended pop stardom to become a cultural force, doesn’t play ball, she must be discredited. To his base, these rants are red meat. To everyone else, it’s a mix of cringe, confusion, and cosmic secondhand embarrassment.

Homestly…It feels exhausting. A 78-year-old man, running a nation, picking fights with a 35-year-old singer because she supports a different political party. All while the world is on fire. Make it make sense.

The behind-the-scenes angle here is pure optics: Trump aims to paint celebrity endorsements of liberals as not just misguided but punishable by irrelevance. But it backfires, especially when the person he targets is… quite literally the most streamed artist on Earth.

If you ask me, Presidents should maybe stop publicly rating women like it’s 2005 MySpace.

Let pop stars be pop stars, and let leaders focus on leading, building a future for their people.

I actually got a quote for this: “Less Truth Social, more actual truths.”

Well, I write daily (mostly the weird stuff I find interesting). If you like this whole no-nonsense approach, feel free to bookmark and come back tomorrow, or continue reading other stories to make up your mind.

See ya, internet friend.
