When long-running TV shows go off-air, a sense of dread fills us. After all, there’s always the fear of it getting canceled quietly.

This fear is even more prominent with game shows as they have even more wacky airing dates.

Regular viewers of the CBS game show Let’s Make a Deal are feeling this fear now because they are wondering why new episodes aren’t being aired for multiple days.

So, what is the reason behind this?

Let’s Make a Deal, a TV game show that began in 1963, currently airs on weekday mornings. But there have been recent unexplained breaks that have concerned viewers. However, the hiatus was scheduled, with episodes preempted or repeated from December 25, 2023, to January 1, 2024. Regular programming will resume on January 2, 2023.

What Is Happening with the CBS Game Show Let’s Make a Deal? Is It Still Airing?

Let’s Make a Deal, a beloved TV game show, made its debut in 1963 and has endured over the years, experiencing brief hiatuses followed by successful reboots.

It remains a cherished competition series on television where contestants, selected from the audience, engage in strategic deal-making to vie for cash and prizes.

The show was initially hosted by Monty Hall, but Wayne Brady currently helms it. Since 2009, CBS has consistently broadcast episodes of Let’s Make a Deal on weekday mornings, keeping the tradition alive for viewers to enjoy.

You know what’s extra annoying about this Vegas business? I dressed up at Miss Tropicana when I went on Let’s Make a Deal with Wayne Brady cuz I knew damn well I’d be on tv since they filmed at the Tropicana at the time. Now the whole thing makes me mad. pic.twitter.com/Uejrd5aa6S

However, over the years, the episodes have been halted sometimes. This has led many to wonder if the show is still on air or not.

The same questions are being asked again because there has been a recent break in the airing of the episodes.

Regular viewers of the show are also worried because November 18, 2023, was the last time anything was posted on the show’s official Twitter/ X account, @letsmakeadeal.

Dec 30 1963 Monty Hall’s "Let's Make A Deal," taped at Burbank, CA studio #1, debuts on NBC-TV. The first prize ended up being a semi-zonk, a ratty raccoon fur coat. Monty Hall Left the show in 1986 and died of heart failure on September 30, 2017.

But there’s nothing to be concerned about because, as per the show’s schedule, the episodes will be preempted or repeated from December 25, 2023, to January 1, 2024.

More specifically, the December 25 and December 29 episodes were preempted, and repeat episodes were shown for the other days. Also, a repeat episode will be aired on the first day of the new year.

From January 2, 2023, new episodes will be aired as per schedule.

I put on TV to watch Let’s Make a Deal only to find a Paid Advertisement. I was very disappointed. It also brightened my day. Wayne and the rest of the crew are terrific. Love NBC game shows.
