No, 16-year-old country singer Ruby Leigh hasn’t been declared the winner of the Voice 2023 as of the time of writing. This is because the finale of the show hasn’t been held yet.

“The Voice” finale will be aired on December 18 at 7 p.m. MST, where the top five contestants will perform both ballads and up-tempo songs.

The 24th season’s winner will be determined by overnight audience voting and crowned during a two-hour episode airing on December 19 at 8 p.m. MST on NBC.

But before that, it’s essential to recognize the remarkable journey of the young woman who came from a tiny town of less than 70 people.

Ruby’s journey on “The Voice” has been nothing short of impressive.

Ruby’s musical journey began when she was just nine years old, memorizing Guy Clark’s “Dublin Blues” on her own.

At the age of 11, she achieved recognition by winning in the country and gospel categories at the World Championships of Performing Arts competition.

She quickly caught the attention of all four coaches during the blind audition round with her captivating rendition of Patsy Montana’s classic, “I Want To Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart.”

Surprisingly, it was John Legend, not country legend Reba McEntire, who was the first to turn his chair for Ruby. Legend was effusive in his praise, predicting that she could win the entire competition.

Even Niall Horan couldn’t contain his excitement, calling Ruby’s energy “insane” and noting that she deserved all four coaches to turn their chairs for her.

Ultimately, Ruby Leigh chose to join Reba McEntire’s team and has remained with the country music icon from the beginning to the finals.

Throughout the competition, Ruby showcased her versatility with performances of songs like LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue,” Linda Ronstadt’s “Long, Long Time,” and John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

Her ability to connect with both the audience and the coaches through her heartfelt performances has been a defining feature of her journey on “The Voice.”

Ruby’s family has been a steadfast source of support throughout her musical endeavors. Her father, Casey Pearson, reflected on a pivotal moment when he realized the depth of her talent.

In an interview with the acclaimed St. Louis Post-Dispatch magazine, he said:

“Me and my wife were driving home silent and stunned. I turned to my wife and said it’s obvious Ruby has more talent than we realized or knew.”

Over the years, Ruby has performed at numerous local gigs, facing both moments of obscurity and opportunities to share the stage with renowned artists like Vince Gill.

Her dedication and hard work have now propelled her into the national spotlight on “The Voice.”

Now, it remains to be seen if her talent will crown her the newest winner of the Voice.

Can Ruby Leigh emerge as the winner of the 24th season of The Voice? Or are the other contestants looking at a better place right now?
