9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 will premiere on TV screens in the fall of 2024. This delay is due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that concluded only recently in November. As a result, an early 2024 release wasn’t possible.
When Will 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Return On Screens Again?
In the upcoming television season, 9-1-1: Lone Star will be the sole representative of the 9-1-1 series on the network. This change arises from the decision not to renew the flagship 9-1-1, which will be relocating to ABC for its seventh season.
But when will 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 premiere on our TV screens? As per Variety, not until Fall 2024. The outlet wrote:
“9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 will not return to Fox until Fall 2024. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the fifth season of the spinoff series will consist of 12 episodes.”
This shift in scheduling for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 has been necessitated by recently concluded WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, leading to its postponement until the 2024-25 season.
In conjunction with the production studio 20th Television, Fox determined that the actors’ strike had concluded too late to ensure a substantial season in early 2024. So, the new season has been rescheduled to premiere in the fall of 2024.
Notably, 9-1-1: Lone Star, a spinoff of the original 9-1-1 series, holds the distinction of being Fox’s second-highest-rated and most-watched drama, following closely behind the flagship First Responder series, 9-1-1.
Produced by 20th Television in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, the series offers viewers a drama-filled tale of the lives of hard-working firefighters, ambulance personnel, and police departments of Company 126 in Austin.
The cast boasts notable names such as Lowe, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Gina Torres, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, Rafael Silva, Ronen Rubinstein, Brianna Baker, as well as Kelsey and Skyler Yates.
What Will 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Be About?
In the Season 4 finale of the procedural drama, TK and Carlos exchanged vows. However, circumstances were far from ideal, with Carlos mourning his father’s unsolved murder and proceeding without his best man.
Meanwhile, Owen bid a bittersweet farewell to his brother Robert, portrayed by Rob Lowe’s real-life sibling Chad Lowe, leaving him emotionally strained.
On a brighter note, Judd’s family is experiencing a glimmer of hope as his son Wyatt, who suffered severe injuries, shows signs of motor skill improvement.
