How far is going too far regarding someone’s death? This is what multiple people are asking after rumors of Twitch streamer Forsen’s death spread like wildfire.

A quick search of Forsen’s name on Twitter/ X will tell anyone how widespread the belief is that he has passed away. Even the Forsen subreddit published a lengthy post about him dying.

But are all of them telling the truth?

Twitch streamer Forsen aka Hans Eli Sebastian Fors, has not died. This rumor began after he posted on November 17, 2023, “Im pretty sick, so no stream today,” and hasn’t updated since. So, his fans joked that he had died, and this spread. But, there has been no official confirmation that can attest to the same.

Forsen, whose real name is Hans Eli Sebastian Fors, is a Twitch streamer known for playing Hearthstone and StarCraft II the most.

He has participated in several tournaments, like StarCraft Playhem EU Daily, Gamescom PUBG, Hearthstone HTC Invitational, and Challengestone #3.

He is one of the top streamers on the platform and has more than a million followers. The Swede has been an active streamer and content creator for a long time. However, his recent absence has made many think he has passed away.

It began when Forsen took to his Twitter/ X account and told his almost 175k followers,

“Im pretty sick, so no stream today.”

He made this post on November 17, 2023, and since then, he hasn’t provided any updates regarding his health.

Since he has been inactive for over six days, many assumed that he is either battling severe health conditions like COVID or has passed away due to it.

But, there has been no official confirmation from any reliable sources or even his friends about this at the time of writing.

Many think that since the streamer avoids consuming anything with sugar, this lack of glucose led to his death.

But fans of the streamer are already mourning his loss, albeit jokingly and sarcastically. Reddit user Kailron typed out a lengthy post on the Forsen subreddit claiming that Forsen had died on November 21, 2023.

The moderator team wrote:

“It has come to our attention that on Tuesday, November 21, Sebastian Hans Eli Fors has passed away, leaving behind a void in the gaming community that can never be filled.”

They further said:

“Forsen was not just a streamer; he was a pioneer, a gaming icon whose skill and charisma captivated audiences across the globe. His prowess in StarCraft and Hearthstone was unparalleled, and his entertaining streams were a source of joy and camaraderie for fans from all walks of life.”

— carboxydev (@carboxydev) November 22, 2023

They ended the post with:

“As we grapple with the loss of Forsen, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire gaming community. The impact of his presence on and off the screen cannot be overstated, and we share in the collective grief of his fans around the world.”

The moderation team further wrote that the subreddit would be closed for a week after making this post to pay homage to Forsen. But since the subreddit is up and running even at the time of writing, it means that the entire thing was done in jest.

While many are carrying on the joke, others think people are taking it too far. On the xqcow subreddit, user ijfalk typed,

“It’s a joke but a really distasteful one.”

Redditor Denzorr backed them up and said:

“Yeah, one thing to make 1, 2 troll posts/comments about someone ‘haha this person is not active he is dead’ but in this case, they go out of their way to convince people is real.”

Which side are you on? Do you think it’s okay to joke about Forsen passing away? Or have people crossed the line?
