Gege Akutami is really flipping fans’ expectations with every chapter, especially since the Culling Game Arc, which revolved around freeing Gojo from Prison Realm and rescuing Tsumiki Fushiguro.
However, so much has transpired since then, with Sukuna taking over Megumi’s body and Gojo dying at the hands of the King of Curses. Chapter 242 has introduced yet another plot twist in the form of Fumihiko Takaba.
Fumihiko Takaba is a failing comedian in Jujutsu Kaisen manga who was turned into a sorcerer by Kenjaku to participate in the Culling Game. In Chapter 242, Kenjaku theorized that Takaba has the ability to twist people’s imagination and given how manga hinted that his ability matches that of Gojo Satoru’s, it is possible Takaba may become stronger than Sukuna by the end of the story.
Who Is Fumihiko Takaba?
Fumihiko Takaba was a normal person prior to the Culling Game arc who wanted to become a comedian, but life didn’t work out as he expected. He’s highly goofy, but his jokes are never funny.
However, one of his co-workers believed he would become a great comedian if he kept going despite not appreciating him. He was initially introduced in the Perfect Preparation arc.
Takaba was always discouraged by his managers, who gave him a chance to do stand-up comedy, but he never gave up, and the comic element was embedded into his behavior after he was turned into a sorcerer by Kenjaku.
In the Culling Game arc, he helps Megumi and Yuji Itadori to survive, and when Gojo engages in a fateful battle against Sukuna, he decides to fight Kenjaku for their sake.
Will Fumihiko Takaba Emerge Stronger Than Sukuna?
Since Takaba has always been a goofy character who takes his conversations in a weird direction, readers of Jujutsu Kaisen manga have never taken him seriously.
But there was a moment in Chapter 173 when it was revealed that Takaba’s ability could even rival Satoru Gojo, but he was not as confident in his potential as a sorcerer.
On the other hand, Chapter 242 proved that he may become stronger than Sukuna by the end of the story, especially with his unique curved technique. During his fight against Kenjaku, the opponent decodes Takaba’s ability.
According to him, Takaba can twist a person’s imagination as well as his own, meaning he can make his enemies dance in his palms while slowly defeating them before they know it.
In fact, his Cursed Technique even forced Kenjaku back, and he had no option but to deactivate his techniques so Takaba wouldn’t manipulate him anymore. So, he opted to attack him mentally.
Kenjaku discourages Takaba, claiming he is a lousy comedian, and challenges him to a battle of jokes. This will tell you that Takaba is not an opponent anyone could deal with, given that even Kenjaku, the thousand-year-old sorcerer, had his hands tied.
This incident led fans to believe that Takaba may be stronger than Sukuna, especially since Sukuna didn’t have all twenty fingers in his possession. So, is it true?
While we believe Takaba has what it takes to become a menace to even Sukuna, it is a far-fetched idea because he lacks battle experience, and currently, he’s definitely not stronger than Sukuna, who even defeated Gojo Satoru.
However, Takaba has the potential to become stronger than Sukuna if he stays alive until the end of the story, but in Jujutsu Kaisen, that’s not an assurance. Thus, the answer could go both ways.
So, what are your thoughts on this? Do you believe Takaba is stronger than Sukuna?
