When asked about my take on the current political climate, I prefer a satirical answer instead of a diplomatic one. No one can claim offense to a joke, and plus, I can get my point across. And the only way to master the psychology of political discourse is to learn from premium late-night senseis, including John Oliver, Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, Seth Myers, and Stephen Colbert.

Jon Stewart started the trend as a political commentator, highlighting the hypocrisy, irony, and paradoxes that come out of the politician’s mouths. His comedic flair added to the hilarious take on severe and uncomfortable topics.

At the same time, Stewart would feature correspondents who would either go on hilarious on-field shenanigans or act as parody satirical characters for in-studio interviews. With Jon Stewart’s ingenious commentary and the correspondents adding to the added spoof, the Daily Show became a critically acclaimed news medium.

Here, we were first introduced to Stephen Colbert as one of the correspondents. Colbert had a natural knack for parodying conservative political pundits, which earned him several accolades. Eventually, Colbert took over the late-night slot with his very own political talk show, Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

However, viewers were left perplexed by no new episodes this past weekend.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will not air new episodes from November 6 to 10, 2023. You can still catch reruns on these days on CBS at 11:35 p.m.

Host Stephen Colbert announced that he was diagnosed with Covid-19 in mid-October. He was seen delivering his monologue from his home like he did during the pandemic. Recently, Colbert took a hiatus to rest and recover. Hence, there are no new tapings. However, the show will resume soon after, with a special guest feature on November 13, 2023.

Is the Late Show on Break? Why Is the Late Show with Stephen Colbert a Rerun Tonight?

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is on a short break. CBS announced that the network will telecast reruns of old episodes from November 6 to 10, 2023.

Stephen Colbert, host of the acclaimed talk show, was diagnosed with COVID somewhere around mid-October.

Even then, he did not forego his late-night duties and conducted his epic monologs from his home. But Colbert needed proper rest before he could fully resume his duties in the studios. Hence, he declared a small hiatus until he was ready for live tapings.

As per the sources, the show will resume on November 13, 2023, featuring a special segment with a coveted guest. Spoiler alert: It’s Barbara Streisand!

When Did Stephen Colbert Take Over the Tonight Show?

Stephen Colbert made a name for himself with his quips and political aptitude. After gaining recognition as the tight-a** conservative pundit parody. Soon, Colbert earned his own talk show, where he delivers intriguing, hard-hitting, and entertaining monologs.

“Governor DeSantis, are you wearing lifts or are your toes just happy to see me?”

From a little girl who wrote school plays and made her friends act in them to an adolescent who got into dark humor, Yashica has built her own universe of peculiar characters inspired by great cinema. She has imbibed the philosophies of David Fincher's characters but lives like the eccentricity of Phoebe Waller Bridge's women. Her metahumans are those who can use the power of words to create an elixir of emotions and bring them to life on screen. Jordan Peele, Issa Rae, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ilana-Abbi, Raj-DK, Anurag Kashyap, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and others are her Marvel's Avengers. With over two years of experience as a content writer, her writing pieces are well-researched, with a sprinkle of her opinions/inferences that keep the audiences engaged. She is still exploring more on the anime scene but is highly intrigued by it. The cinephile in her makes her appreciate the intricacies of filmmaking. You will get a lot more insight into it in her articles and thoroughly enjoy her explanations. Well, someday, you might see Yashica as one of the writers for a movie-- it's her ultimate dream!
