Joy Reid is one of the best television hosts and adds much value to the MSNBC channel, thanks to her ability to break down complex topics into digestible news.

While she’s known for many of her shows on MSNBC, The ReidOut is the most popular, and people often watch it just for Joy Reid. However, it looks like Joy Reid won’t be able to host this week’s show.

So, why isn’t Joy Reid on the show this week? Joy Reid isn’t on this show’s week for unknown reasons, but the official X account of The ReidOut announced that she will be back on the show starting Monday. On the other hand, many fans believe that the channel has preemptively taken her out of this week’s show because she reports both sides of the Israeli-Palestine war, but the official reason is still unknown.

Who Is Joy Reid and What Does She Do in The ReidOut?

COMING UP: Our special show *tonight from 4-6 PM ET!*@JoyAnnReid will join you very soon for a two-hour program. See you all at 4 pm ET this evening only for @TheReidOut on @MSNBC! pic.twitter.com/BSoBAOPKSO

Joy Reid, also known as Joy-Ann M. Lomena-Reid, is a professional television host and author who has been hosting weekly morning shows for MSNBC since 2014.

She started with The Reid Report, which she ran from 2014 to 2015, but was eventually promoted to her new role as a national correspondent. Following this, she hosted other shows, such as AM Joy, until she ultimately became a fan-favorite with The ReidOut.

The ReidOut is a weeknight commentary show that addresses the ongoing world crisis and concerns, which airs at 7 p.m. Joy Reid is the main host of this show, who appears every weekend to provide the viewers with a dose of her own commentary.

Why Is Joy Reid Not on This Week’s Show?

.@JoyAnnReid is BACK on Monday for a fresh edition of #TheReidOut on @MSNBC. Tonight, stick with @TheBeatWithAri for the second hour of this two-hour special. See you Monday, #reiders!

— The ReidOut (@thereidout) October 13, 2023

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for tonight’s The ReidOut episode, but unfortunately, the official X account of The ReidOut has announced that Joy Reid won’t be hosting the show today.

In the meantime, Ari Melber, who covers MSNBC’s 6 p.m. news, will be taking over the second hour to host The ReidOut. The show did not reveal any particular reason behind Reid’s absence.

They did announce that she will be back on MSNBC on Monday, so Reid must have been absent for some personal reasons. This is backed by the fact that she has not been on the show since the beginning of this week.

On the other hand, fans who have been waiting since last week have different opinions on why Reid is absent from the week’s episode. Some believe she is intentionally removed for the time being because of her unbiased coverage of the Israel-Palestine war.

However, that is unlikely because, two days ago, the official YouTube channel of MSNBC posted a video of Joy Reid’s take on the latest Israel-Hamas attacks, which garnered comments such as “Joy reporting the actual news and not propaganda.”

How Are People Reacting to Joy Reid’s Absence?

If Joy is not back tomorrow or we get a date she is returning, I'm not watching MSNBC anymore.

— Concerned Citizen (@starpatsky) October 13, 2023

Regardless of the reason that Joy Reid won’t be hosting this week’s The ReidOut, fans are not taking it well. Here are some notable reactions from the X users.

At 7pm sharp I turned to @MSNBC to see @thereidout only to see the Ari guy yet again😡 I immediately changed the channel! Don't make us start picketing come Monday we need #JOYREID back on #MSNBC & for 2hrs would be great!

— Bren Hart (@BrenHart411) October 14, 2023

What gives? This is the 2nd night with Ari for 2 hours and I’m not liking this. 😡

— Fred (@Fred11508947) October 13, 2023

@thereidout Where is Joy? I can’t take Ari for two hours. Yesterday and today, Joy was missing in action. I was happy to see someone on MSNBC not giving one sided coverage of the Israeli- Hamas war. I hope all is well Joy and cannot wait until you return!

— Kavetta Banks (@BanksKavetta) October 13, 2023

Can we have a two hour edition of Joy tomorrow? She covers news stories and angles that everyone else ignores. @msnbc #Reiders #TheReidOut

— Get Boosted! (@craftyme25) October 12, 2023

So they benched Joy because she wasn't sufficiently warmongery enough for MSNBC? #TheReidOut @JoyAnnReid
