Chance’s journey in the world of acting exemplifies his talent and determination. But somehow, like any other star, he also ended up in a trail of backlash. The “Gen V” star is under fire regarding his attitude towards the community.
The Reddit user u/summercloudsadness, accused the star while calling out his alleged “misogynistic, transphobic, racist incel” beliefs. At the time of the incident, he was following controversial pages like RedPillHub, Right-wing savages, Masculine Mindset, William Escobar, and more from his official Instagram account.
Further, he was accused of allegedly liking the post that preaches about toxic masculinity while suppressing women. In the series of screenshots, it was visible that he liked a picture (attached below) describing how a man should choose a traditional family-oriented woman over an independent one.
Another post he liked on Instagram suggests the “signs of a high-value woman,” which includes shady points like maintaining a slim body or appreciating a normal man (picture attached below). Yet another idea, portraying a traditional type of women while suppressing their individuality and beliefs.
Few even pointed out how ironic he is being ironic when he played an iconic role as an LGBTQ and then did not support these gender identities. Netizens were quick enough to demand reactions from him, calling him out to hold responsibility for his actions.
Soon after the incident went viral, Chance confronted the situation while mentioning his side of the story. He posted an official statement on Instagram on 2nd October. He turned off the comment section and blamed the account operator for mishandling. He stated,
“My team and I are investigating following recent mismanagement of my Twitter and Instagram handles”
He further denied the claims of him having such “misogynistic, transphobic, racist incel” beliefs. He said,
“In no way shape or form do the following or likes of either account reflect my personal beliefs or viewpoints.”
The netizens over social media platforms are expressing their opinions and disappointment with the actor’s actions and reactions.
