If you are a Dragon Ball fan, you must have been hearing rumors about an entirely new Dragon Ball anime. Of course, many fans will be disappointed already because it isn’t a continuation of Dragon Ball Super, but it’s still positive news for the rest of us.

What Is Dragon Ball Magic?
Drago Ball Magic is a rumored web anime that will be released by the Dragon Ball franchise. It has been leaked by some prominent leakers on X and has been making the rounds ever since then.
According to the leak, the web anime will be directed by Aya Komaki, with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru as the character designer. Animators like Shintani Kubota and Takahashi will also participate in the project.
It was also revealed that the anime would feature the 90s art style but by using modern techniques with CGI aid. More details regarding the web anime will be revealed on October 12, 2023, during the New York Comic Con Dragon Ball Exhibit.
Dragon Ball Magic Plot
According to a few leaks, the upcoming Dragon Ball Magic web anime will take place before the end of the Dragon Ball Z timeline. In the plot, Supreme Kai and Goku are turned into children by a demon. In order to get their real bodies back, both the heroes have to go around the universe and hunt the demon down.
During their journey, Kai and Goku will travel to many different planets and face new enemies in their child forms. Some new characters might be introduced, out of which two will help the duo. Of course, some older characters will also make an appearance.
Given the similarity of the introductions, fans have already begun comparing Dragon Ball Magic to Dragon Ball GT, a non-canon sequel series where Goku was turned into a child. Goku, accompanied by Pan and Trunks, went on an adventure to bring back the Black Star Dragon Balls, which could turn him back.
Is Dragon Ball Magic Official?
There has been no official announcement for the Dragon Ball Magic web anime yet. It has only been announced by leakers so far, but there is a huge possibility of it actually coming true in the upcoming New York Comic Con. It will be a non-canon series if it gets animated, but Akira Toriyama will be involved in its production.
Dragon Ball Magic Release Date
According to the leaks, Dragon Ball Magic might be released sometime in the first half of 2023, so either in Winter or Spring season. It will receive 14-15 episodes, each of which will have 30-40 minutes of duration. As it is a web anime, it will not be broadcast on Japanese TV channels rather, it will be streamed on Crunchyroll or some other site directly.
There is a chance that Dragon Ball Magic will be streamed worldwide. Being the first new project from the franchise in a while, Dragon Ball Magic is bound to attract a lot of curious onlookers as well as true Dragon Ball fans.
