Leading to the incidents, Victoria Sugden might lose her job and leave the village due to negligence as Jacob recovers in hospital after gasping for air and collapsing as he suffered an anaphylactic reaction. Later, Plant reveals that the incident could have been so much worse for Jacob.

Victoria Sugden, played by Isabel Hodgins, was the one who gave the nut to Jacob in the episode. Following the incidents of his fainting and suffering the reaction, Victoria is left reeling from the loss of her job. With all that, Plant revealed that Jacob would not bear any grudges against her for the mistake, and the incident would be forgiven quickly.
“Jacob is always forgiving of people, especially his close friends. He’ll understand that it was an accident as he’s not a menacing person – he won’t hold it against anyone. He tries to keep the air clean around everyone, so I don’t see him holding onto it.”

There have been many speculations of the young character leaving the show. Given the departure of his on-and-off love interest from the show after 17 years, the audience will have to wait and see if Jacob’s character stays or if this incident paves the way for his departure from Emmerdale.

While he is recovering from an allergic reaction to nuts, it was Victoria’s mistake that left him in the hospital. As she went to visit him in the hospital, she said, “I am so sorry. I’d never forgive myself if you’d have.” Both of them stared at each other as Victoria realized that Jacob was not just holding her hands but was something else.
Upon realizing that he was not just holding her hands, Victoria pulled it away. He stumbled upon his words, and from there, it became clear that Jacob had developed feelings for his dad’s former girlfriend, Victoria Sugden.
