Fans’ reactions are harsh and sometimes they just get more brutal. With the death of Nigerian singer MohBad, his former label boss, Naira Marley has been facing a lot of threats as he is alleged to be involved in the singer’s death.
While they were once-close musical associates, who parted ways in 2022, it has been reported that things turned sour between them.
Marlian Records boss Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has no peace from music lovers and fans of the deceased Nigerian singer/rapper. A video on social media has been doing rounds on the internet where fans have burnt Naira Marley’s house after the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad.
Was Naira Marley Involved In MohBad’s Death?
Both of them were once part of the same music family as Mohbad was signed to Naira Marley’s record label called Marlian Records. As things between them turned sour, there were hints of trouble before their split. However, there was no evidence that Naira Marley had any part in the tragic death of MohBad.
It is all the fans’ speculation that the duo never got good and some feel that Naira Marley isn’t entirely innocent regarding the death of the Nigerian singer. Following the news of Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley’s comment section has been assailed with death threats and unsavory comments.
Why Did Fans Burn Naira Marley’s House?
It was the fans’ outrage after MohBad’s death that caused them to create a riot-like situation at Naira Marley’s home. TikTok videos of the same incident have gone viral across social media platforms as the fans of the Nigerian singer are accusing the label boss of playing a role in the rapper’s death. Unlike his previous comments, Naira Marley is yet to react to the situation, as of writing.
How Did MohBad Die?
The news of Nigerian rapper and singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad being dead shocked the music world on 12 September 2023. At the age of 27, his tragic death still remains a mystery as the official reason is yet to be released.
However, it is said that the cause of the death is a severe ear infection. The details of the medical treatment he received are not detailed, at the time of writing.
What Happened Between Naira Marle & MohBad?
While they both worked with each other, they had to part ways in 2022. There were many hints of trouble before their split as Mohbad had posted messages on social media, suggesting that he felt threatened and was having problems with Naira Marley and his team.
Amid their feud, MohBad also posted photos from a hospital bed, claiming he was assaulted which made people wonder if there were issues between them.
It should be noted that similar conflicts between artists and their management have been quite common. However, as the true reasons behind their split may remain hidden, the details of what happened between Mohbad and Naira Marley are still unclear.
Mohbad claimed that he had been physically assaulted, which he attributed to his former boss Naira Marley’s influence.
Following MohBad’s departure from the label in 2022, he accused Marley of being present during the assault and not intervening to stop it. He mentioned that he had requested to change his manager, which seemed to have caused friction within the Marlian Records camp.
With all that, the allegations of unpaid royalties since 2019 also contributed to Mohbad’s exit from the record label.

Naira Marley, is a real thug that should not be in the society.
I love mohbad and the way he danced…..I am going to burn my clothe with the image of Naira Marley as a show of my protest.
I believe the end of Monbad is the demise of Marlians .
