Fans freaked out after watching the new promo of the 27th season of The View as one of the prominent stars and everyone’s favorite television personality, Whoopi Goldberg, was missing out.
The new promo showed other co-hosts in front of the mic describing the top-rated talk show, The View, in three words. But Whoopi Goldberg was not seen doing so, setting the panic mode among the fans.
But much to everyone’s relief, Whoopi Goldberg finally peeps from behind the camera saying that she will only talk in the new season of the show. So, the good news is that Whoopi Goldberg will definitely grace the table in the brand new and exciting season of The View.
Is Whoopi Goldberg Returning on The View?
The answer is Yes. Whoopi Goldberg will soon be seen discussing new topics along with the rest of the girl gang on the 27th season of The View. In the new 80-second segment promo, Goldberg was finally seen for a few seconds in the end, confirming that she is indeed on the talk show.
Moderator Goldberg will be joined by the rest of the cast, Sunny Hostin, 54, Ana Navarro, 51, Joy Behar, 80, Sara Haines, 45, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, on the show. The View has an ardent fan base as it’s one of the most influential political shows where everything is discussed under one roof.
The previous 26th season of The View ended on a high note. The show got an average of 2.375 million viewers per episode, topping all other network and syndicated daytime talk shows and news programs, including the syndicated Live With Kelly and Mark.
Executive producer Brian Teta told Variety that the 26th season of the show was one of its most successful yet.
“I’m really proud that The View is having this moment 26 years into its run. The show is more relevant than ever and it’s a credit to visionaries Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie and the concept they created.”
“Television audiences have changed drastically since the show began in 1997. You have to be ‘can’t miss television’ to break through, and The View is always at its best when it’s a reflection of the conversations our viewers are having at home.”
Brian Teta
Further speaking about the hosts and their bond on the show, Teta said, “This combination of co-hosts is very special. They are having fun at the table, but they also are talking about important issues, reacting to breaking news in real-time, and having tough conversations. They have terrific chemistry, and everyone in our audience can find a perspective to connect with. Now we are heading into a presidential election cycle, when ‘The View’ is historically at its strongest, and I’m very excited for what’s to come in season 27.”
For the new season, The View has set its panel for a year that will cover all the happenings leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Previously, both Joe Biden and Donald Trump have made multiple appearances on the show. It will be exciting to see who’s who of the entertainment world and political world, among others, will grace the screens in the new season.
Back in 2021, it was reported that Goldberg has renewed her contract on The View for four more years, making it to the summer of 2025. As per Closer Weekly reports, Goldberg reportedly makes about $8 million per year for her four days per week on the talk show.
The 27th season of The View will start on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, on ABC at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT/CT.
