Social media is buzzing with one major question- why are so many well-known celebrities and social media personalities dying in vehicular accidents so suddenly?
The answer isn’t known yet, but sadly ex-NFL star Alex Collins has joined the list of deceased people.
Collins had a short NFL career with various teams that were marred with arrests due to drugs and handgun charges. However, no one could have predicted that he would leave the world in a gruesome fashion.
Former NFL star Alex Collins passed away due to injuries from a motorcycle incident on Sunday night. His 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600K motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet SUV from the opposite direction. The accident occurred around 10:20 p.m., and the 28-year-old was pronounced dead on the spot. His previous teams have released statements remembering him. Further investigation is ongoing.
Alex Collins’ Professional NFL Career
Alex Collins had a great career at Arkansas with three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Post this; the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the 2016 NFL draft’s fifth round. He spent a season in Seattle as a reserve before getting released and joining the Ravens.
In 2017, he played for Baltimore and scored six touchdowns and a team-high 973 yards. That was the best year for him. In 2018, a foot injury kept him down for the season, and in 2019, Baltimore released him after his arrest on handgun and drug charges after he crashed his car near the training facility of the Ravens.
The NFL intervened after this and suspended him for three weeks in November 2019. The next year, he got re-signed by the Seahawks and played in Seattle for the next two seasons. He got two touchdowns and rushed 411 yards in six games in 2021. The last game he played was with USFL’s Memphis Showboats this year.
