Are aliens real? This is the debate that has raged for decades now.

Frequently videos of meteor showers or strange atmospheric lights get passed around the internet as possible proof of the existence of extraterrestrial beings. However, such speculation is currently rising due to the recent U.S. congressional hearing.

There, multiple former military members testified about non-human extraterrestrial crafts and sightings under oath. Now, everyone wants to see proof of the presence of these beings from another dimension or world. The universe aligned to give the people what they wanted, and a video of an alien went viral. So, is this real or a total hoax?

The viral video of the NYC subway alien isn’t real. It’s 100% fake. The clip showed a weird humanoid-looking being with ashen skin and a blue shirt with a picture of the Earth and the words ‘Love your mother’ written on it. It’s actually an actress, Jade Quon, promoting the Ben Kingsley starrer film Jules, which features a spacecraft crash landing on a man’s backyard and changing his life.

I need answers! 👽 Who rides the train barefoot? pic.twitter.com/ouRh4dkj9v

Recently, Twitter/ X user @StanleyRoberts posted a video that made many crumple their forehead and narrow their eyes. The clip featured a bald humanoid-looking being with a seemingly ashen skin tone sitting barefoot in the NYC subway.

It can be seen wearing a T-shirt with the phrase ‘Love your mother’ written with the image of the planet on it. People online seemingly had no idea what to make of that being or the video, but the subway riders took the opportunity to record multiple videos of it. Also, they made some laugh-out-loud jokes about the situation.

On the other side of the coin, many claimed that it was actually an alien and that humans had become desensitized to the news of anything extraterrestrial. So now everyone considered it a hoax, and no one took it seriously. This begs the question- is the alien real? Not at all.

The alien in the viral NYC subway video isn’t real. It’s actually a marketing campaign for a film called Jules and is being done to create more buzz around it. The movie, directed by Marc Turtle Taub, is about a man living in rural Pennsylvania whose life changes when a UFO crashes into his backyard.

He then approaches the being and, over time, becomes friends with it, which results in things going haywire for him and his life. The film has already been released in theaters and has an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. It stars Harriet Sansom Harris, Jane Curtin, Donald Paul, and Ben Kingsley.

The community notes on Twitter/ X also added that the person pretending to be an alien and interacting with the public is an actress. The platform noted:

“This footage is an actress (Jade Quon) in costume playing the alien character “Jules” from the recently released film of the same name.”

So, fortunately or unfortunately, the NYC subway alien isn’t real. People will have to wait longer to see actual proof of alien life. Also, such marketing has been used to draw public attention toward a movie before. A film called Smile was promoted by its actor making creepy smiling faces at public events like baseball matches.

What are your thoughts about the fake NYC subway alien marketing campaign?

Did it make you interested to see the film, Jules? Are you disappointed? Or did you always know that it was just someone getting their moment of public attention?
