A lot of phrases have caught on fast online. For years, the Go Woke Go Broke phrase has been used to indicate that anything which espouses liberal values will not make any profit/ money for the creator of that product.
Recently, the Margot Robbie starrer Barbie movie was criticized for its themes, and the phrase Go Woke Go Broke was also used with it. But that film grossed over a billion dollars and is still going strong at the box office.
However, that doesn’t mean the phrase will be used less now. In fact, it seems like the opposite is going to happen because now, apparently, country singer Jason Aldean has released a Go Woke Go Broke song. But has he really sung it?
TikTok account Jokes on Wokes posted a song called Go Woke Go Broke, and since the voice of the singer matched Jason Aldean’s, everyone assumed that the country singer sang it. Many even tagged him to release the full version. However, the creator revealed that it was an AI-generated voice. Aldean had nothing to do with the music.
Did Jason Aldean Sing Go Woke, Go Broke Song on TikTok, or Is It AI?
Jason Aldean first came under public scrutiny because of his Try That In A Small Town song. Many people said the song was about keeping African-Americans out of white communities. There was a huge uproar, and Aldean, a country singer, was labeled a racist.
What added fuel to the fire was the fact that the song got the number one spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. This meant that people were listening to it and loving it. However, the hustle and bustle around the song has died down quite a bit.
But now, a new problem has cropped up. Apparently, he has sung a new song going viral on TikTok. It’s called Go Woke Go Broke. Thousands of users have shared that song, and many are urging the country singer to release the full version because the voice closely resembles his.
The track featured lyrics like “F**k Budlight, F**k CMT, F**k Target and F**k Disney.” It is an apparent criticism of the brands which support LGBTQ+ people. Other lyrics include, “They’re calling me stupid, calling me dumb/ Drivin my song to number 1.” The song also criticizes Country Music Television (CMT).
It was initially posted by the page called Jokes on Wokes with 44K followers, and they had originally promoted the song by saying, “I Wrote Jason Aldean’s next single!!! Best duet gets featured!” on a snippet of their music. A more extended version of the song has garnered 2.4 million views.
However, the song isn’t written or sung by Jason Aldean. In fact, he had nothing to do with it in any way because the voice is completely AI-generated. The creator of the song revealed this in one of their comments.
They said that the singer wasn’t Jason Aldean, but Jason ‘Al’ Dean, a cheeky joke on the name to signify that AI had ‘sung’ the song. This isn’t the first time the Jokes on Wokes TikTok page has posted an AI-generated piece.
They frequently create their lyrics and post songs in Aldean’s voice using AI. After the reveal, a new debate has reignited. Many have wondered what the future of music will be if AI can churn out songs this well and mimic the voices of famous singers so accurately.
Will this make it difficult for singers to save their reputations? It has seemingly become easier to imitate their voice and make AI sing anything- no matter how crass or incendiary.
What are your thoughts about Jason ‘Al’ Dean and not Jason Aldean singing Go Woke, Go Broke? Is AI fear valid? Will the new tech make life difficult for musicians?

Hey Ishita! I really appreciate you taking the time to write an article about the song I did…but just want to clear up that absolutely NO ai was used in making it or anything else on my page. I DID make that Jason “AI” Dean joke comment early on purely as a goof…never thought it would lead to articles about the future of music. Haha. If you look there are way more replies where I say there is no ai. Just wanted to let you know. Feel free to contact me through my tik tok page if you need any further verification. Thank you!
