SuperMega, the gaming and comedy channel founded by Ryan and Matt, has recently come under fire as an associated artist, DonDRRR, is accused of sexual assault. Ryan and Matt have also been accused of not taking any actions despite knowing about the exploitation.
After the incident came out in the open, the channel lost 10k subscribers in a single day. The fallout shocked the channel fans and made others curious about what exactly went down with Lex.

What Is The SuperMega Controversy?
Lex Updog, an artist and cosplayer, uploaded a video on July 27 titled “My Experience With DonDRRR And SuperMega.” In the two-hour-long video, Lex described that in November 2021, DonDRRR attempted to force her into sexual acts despite not having consented to them.
This was the first time they had met while dating, and only her physical resistance stopped the act from occurring.
DonDRRR is the former channel artist of SuperMega. Lex also shared screenshots of her conversations with the channel owners and DonDRRR. In the screenshots, DonDRRR can be seen apologizing, claiming he didn’t know that’s how she felt.
Lex continues that she waited to confront Don until Creator Clash 2022. Lex was supposed to move to LA to stay in the “SuperMegaPlex” house/office for the channel. However, Don was invited to the place right before she moved in.
According to the cosplayer, she informed the others regarding what she had faced to avoid being around Don, but they gave her “mixed messages.” Ryan supported her momentarily, but Matt told her, “Technically, Don isn’t an employee, so we don’t have to do anything.” Matt continued to explain that it would be very bad for them if anyone found out about this.
Matt and Ryan later talked to Don privately, and the latter told them he had no idea what he did wrong. Thus, the YouTuber duo came to the conclusion that Don and Lex just needed to talk it out.
Matt texted her that Don would be at the office, compelling Lex to hide in the washroom till he left. Lex’s time at the office didn’t last long, as every action was held against her and Ray until they were constantly gaslit.
Lex’s life after resigning was tough as she was homeless and had to live in her car or from hotel to hotel. She was robbed and couldn’t get her belongings from the office due to various reasons.
DonDRRR’s Response
After Lex’s YouTube video came out, DonDRRR took to Twitter to release a statement that described his version of the incident.
According to Don, in November 2021, he and Lex were staying over at Matt’s place for a week. He and Lex were intimate since the first day, but he had asked for a sexual act on the third day. Initially, She refused due to a cold sore but later accepted it. During the act, Don got too rough, making Lex recoil. Don immediately apologized, and things were normal for the next few days.
However, Lex grew distant towards him during the next meeting. After questioning her, Don found out that his roughness led her to remember her ex. When Don was invited to the office, he had no idea Lex was also supposed to be there.
SuperMega disclosed they no longer needed Don’s artwork after he flew to Germany and cut contact with him. He had also apologized to Lex again on Discord but never heard back from any of them.
Impact on SuperMega
SuperMega has already lost around 10,000 subscribers who were alarmed by Matt and Ryan’s reaction to the incident. The controversy also impacted Matt Walson, and he announced the cancelation of his upcoming shows.
The decision was likely taken to address the situation regarding Lex and DonDRRR. However, he is yet to comment on what happened.
Lex has received immense support for bringing everything out into the light. Fans consider her as brave for facing something traumatizing. Of course, there are also a fair number of critics.
