Ninjas are not a new concept, as their stories have been told over generations. You will find enough famous ninja anime as well, making the competition stand out tougher. So when a renowned director like Sungho Park attempts a ninja anime, expectations are bound to be unnaturally high.
Ninja Kamui, the latest addition to the ninja genre, involves a modern ninja and his bone-deep urge to enact revenge on those who have ravaged his life.
Ninja Kamui Plot
The protagonist of Ninja Kamui is Joe Higan, a ninja who escaped his clan to hide with his family in rural America. However, his former clan tracks him down and burns his house along with his family and him.
Joe rises from his “death” to reemerge as his former self, Ninja Kamui. This time, he will go after the clan who took everything from him. His opponents will comprise of assassins, combat cyborgs, and rival ninjas, and he will have to take them down effortlessly before facing his ultimate enemy.

A new trailer for the upcoming Ninja Kamui anime has been released. The trailer shows Joe rising from his “death.”
The three-minute trailer shows the brutal way in which Joe’s child and wife were killed. As he rises to escape, he wages a bloody battle with trained assassins. Something inside Joe awakens as he takes on a mask he had forsaken before.
The new visual shows the protagonist, Joe Higan, with a devilish mask on, bathed in the blood of his adversaries.
Studio, Cast, Crew
Ninja Kamui is the first anime production of Sungho Park’s studio, E&H production, and Sola Entertainment. It is being directed by none other than Park Sungho, with Takeshi Okazaki as the character designer.
Park Sungho is the famed director of ultra-popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School, and Garo. Takeshi Ohkazaki has previously designed characters for Platonic Chain, Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, and more.

Ninja Kamui Release Date and Where to Watch
The official release date for the Ninja Kamui anime on Adult Swim in the US is February 10. Adult Swim executive Jason DeMarco confirmed the series will have 12 episodes.
The show airs twice, in English and original Japanese with subtitles, addressing the dubs vs. subs debate. The first three episodes’ schedule for both languages is listed.

Is Ninja Kamui Original Anime?
Yes, Ninja Kamui is an original anime by Sungho Park, the director of Jujutsu Kaisen, God of High School, and many others. It is not adapted from any manga.
According to Park, they took a different route of action and storyline than ninja-based stories.
In terms of the action, many live-action and animation styles were combined into one. According to the director, the scores are also splendid.
