Tyler Perry’s Sistas is getting more lit (pun intended) with every passing episode. The drama never stops between the posse, navigating lives with their partners or finding love in unexpected ways. The women-centric series on BET (Black Entertainment Television) has a successful run, clocking in on season 6 now.
Here’s a quick episode rundown before we dive into the main drama–
ZAC and FATIMA
First off, Zac and Fatima are serving couple goals. The portrayal of a healthy relationship is refreshing, given the constant drama surrounding the couple.
This episode explores the vulnerability in masculine energy, and Fatima complements his vibe. But even then, the couple faces a harsh reality as they go to Heather’s place to meet Zac’s son.
The first sight of his son playing outdoors is all adorable, but a closer look reveals a disturbing side of child neglect. Zac’s son Michael is playing in the front yard, unattended. His mother is nowhere to be found, and the neighbor informs him it’s nothing new.
Zac storms into the house and finds Heather getting it down with her boyfriend. She is not just oblivious to her motherly duties but also fails at human decency while little Mike is still wearing diapers at 3-4 years old. Her boyfriend acts up in their faces, and we can see Zac turning red. Fatima de-escalates the situation by pulling Zac away; else, that would have been an epic showdown.
Heather remains unhinged since she has Mike’s custody, but Fatima encourages Zac to fight for legal custody.
DANNI
After the beat-down by Danni and Preston of Jonah, the power couple seems to have rekindled their relationship.
Danni again runs into Jonah’s ex at the airport, who previously tried to warn her about Jonah’s violent tendencies.
ANDI
Gary asks Andi out for dinner. But she politely declines, citing exhaustion as an excuse. Gary still pursues her subtly, showering her with gentlemanly gestures. Let’s see where this ship is headed in the following episodes.
SABRINA
Bayo has been Sabrina’s constant pillar of strength following her legal drama. Maurice visits Q to confront their accusations. But it seems Q is ready to throw anyone under the bus to save his heinie. Sabrina’s fate seems uncertain, but Bayo is by her side. Seems like another ship is about to sail.
After all the personal drama, the entire group is seen in front of Karen’s wrecked salon. What happened?
What Happens to Karen on Sistas?
Karen Mott is one of the main characters who owns a hair salon. Karen’s journey on the show resonated with many women who have complicated “entanglements” and an added responsibility of motherhood. Karen is pregnant, although it’s been three seasons, and Tyler Perry refuses to reveal who is the baby daddy.
Some suspect Zac might be the father considering their intense relationship before breaking up. Fatima also opens up to Andi that Zac still hasn’t proposed to her yet. However, this doesn’t confirm anything but does raise a valid suspicion.
Anyways, the mystery of baby daddy is not essential right now. There are more explosive problems to focus on…
Massive fire breaks out in Karen’s salon. The speculation is that Pam left the curling iron on, which led to the outbreak.
She is trapped inside and tries to extinguish it but in vain. The intense fumes make her unconscious, and she passes out on the floor. The scene cuts to the fire engulfing pregnant Karen.
Did Karen Die on Sistas? Is Karen Leaving Sistas?
Nothing is revealed after the tragic night, but we see the group gather outside the salon. The police have found a body, but it is not identified yet. Karen is not dead, but she sure has gone missing.
Zac has an intense reaction to this news, which makes some viewers believe that he still has residual feelings for Karen.
After the intense dramatic reactions from the friends, the question remains–
Is Karen really dead?
Netizens have already pointed out that there are a few clips of Karen saying, “she lost everything” in the promotional preview of season 6:
She is not dead, even though the last scene shows she is all alone in the blazing salon.
As for the question of whether Karen is leaving Sistas, only time will tell whether Tyler Perry will discard the character or he has other plans for her arc.
What is your review of the last episode? Do you think Karen will not be a part of Sistas the next season? Who do you think is Karen’s baby’s father?

I feel the show is better without Karen, because her character doesn’t bring anything to the show, she’s really boring.
I think Tyler Perry messed up with the cliffhanger of Karen lying on the floor of a fiery building and then popping up afterwards with all her friends are in front of her destroyed salon crying their hearts out. What connection does a homeless man being the dead body in the salon have with the previous depiction of Karen? Please move on with more realistic actions…and, along the way, get rid of Wimpy Karen, obnoxious Maurice, and stupid Hayden in the process!
Mr. Perry, you also seriously misrepresent us REAL “sistahs” who are beautiful, ambitious, productive, “level-headed”, and less promiscuous than your depiction of us as sex-starved, bickering, and needy bitches! . I sometimes think that you and Amdy Cohen are the worst enemies we independent and free-thinking Black women can have. IN A MAJORITY OF YOUR PRODUCTIONS, YOU HAVE CHARACTERIZED BLACK WOMEN AS “WEAK.” WE DESERVE BETTER!
!
I don’t think that Karen died in the fire. I think that the body is the girl who was arguing with Aaron and I have a strange suspicion that Aaron killed her and set Karen’s salon on fire, got Karen out, kidnapped her, and put the girl’s body in there to throw suspicion on the girl starting the fire. I also think it’s Aaron’s baby.
I don’t think Karen is dead, and the baby is not Zac’s.Maurice is stupid and being a butt hole.Andi need to leave Gary,Dani need to get it together with Preston.
First of all! This is season 3 since Karen been pregnant, your dragging this out tooooo long! I dont think it’s Zac baby, becuz if she wasn’t hiding anything she should of let the girls stay in the room when the doctor arrived with the test. If Karen isnt the body found in the salon… Who is it? Unless the girl Aaron was seeing set the fire and got caught inside🤷🏽♀️
Get rid of karen.
Tyler, your depiction of black women is not a good look.
Andi for example is supposed to be educated and black, but she acts like a whole and goldigger.
Karen: confused and willing to say say someone is the baby’s daddy, because she wants him. He is involved with someone else. (Moved on)-desperate
Dani is the only one that seems to have sense,
Sabrina a mess.
If she doesn’t die the baby father saga could end due to smoke inhalation
All the episodes are way too drawn out. I would love to see Andi’s character change because she is a mess and her role is gonna play out if something doesn’t change soon.
Its Zac baby! And it’s Karen body in that fire but she is still alive we just don’t know yet. The suspense is so real
Just don’t drag this situation on. I hope Zack isn’t the father and does marry Fatima. I personally I want Hayden to be dealt with appropriately and the Maurice & Sabrina issue ended.
It showed her in the burning salon and had passed out. I hope they don’t drag this out about Karen. We won’t find out for at least 2 weeks from now.
I don’t think that Zac is the father of Karen’s baby. And I think that She is Leaving To Bigger And Better Things.
I don’t think the baby is Zacs, and I do think she’s leaving the show.
I don’t want Karen to leave the show, but I don’t think that the baby is Zac’s
