Transformers are ready for the next installment as the new trailer for Rise of the Beasts drops, bringing us back to 1994. With new dark clouds glooming over humankind, the Autobots and Maximals join hands for the biggest challenge so far.
Unicron, the Lord of Chaos, is ascending to capture Earth…or rather, devour it. This implies the magnitude of the threat lurking over the transformers.
The trailer demonstrates the mesmerizing setup and action-packed scenes that have left the audience in an adrenaline rush.
However, there seem to be certain unanswered questions from the trailer, as some fan theories suspect a few past Transformers to make an appearance.
Will Megatron Return In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?
Megatron was the OG antagonist of the earlier Transformer movies. The founder and feared leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, was certain of his cruel intentions over Earth’s takeover. He was a formidable opponent for our beloved Optimus Prime. Moreover, his beastly demeanor brought unanimous thrills to the final battle.
Most fan theories believe that the timeline is simply convenient for Megatron’s appearance. Basically, the year is 1994, before Megatron inserted his dominance. So, the most logical theory suggests that he might appear in the movie’s end credits. Fans believe that Megatron initiated his mission after Optimus Prime had fought with Unicron.
The trailer shows battles between the Transformers and the antagonist at lightning speed. Some theories also point out that Megatron might be recruited in the battle, and we might catch a glimpse of him in the movie.
Who Is Megatron’s Brother?
It is a widely known Mandela Effect in the Transformers fandom that Megatron and Optimus Prime are actually brothers, just that both chose different sides. However, it has never been stated that they are siblings.
“We were once brothers” created a whole lot of confusion in the fandom. But in fact, both were good friends who were seeking the same goal and promised to achieve it together.
Who Is the Main Villain in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?
“Uh! He eats planets. So, way bigger than a planet.”
This one description in the trailer overpowered all the Transformer villains so far. Unicron, also known as Planet-eater, is the darkest antagonist in the franchise so far. His sheer motive is to put an end to all the multi-verses and then eventually become the center of the void that he created. Yeah! He is called the Lord of Chaos for nothing.
Being the arch-enemy of his twin brother Primus, Unicron is determined to bring an end to what his brother believes in.
Will The Decepticons Be in Rise of the Beasts?
There is no direct integration of Decepticons, but their sub-group, Terracons, is part of the movie. Basically, they transform into metallic monsters.
Will Optimus Be in Rise of the Beasts?
Optimus Prime is the star of the movie. Along with the Autobots, a new family of Transformers are introduced. The Maximals are transformers who take animal form.
Optimus Primal, who transforms into a Gorilla, shines in the trailer, played by Ron Perlman. The majestic beings will surely add to the intensity of the battle. Some other maximals seen in the trailer are:
- Michelle Yeoh as Airazor: a Maximal warrior who transforms into a Peregrine falcon.
- David Sobolov as Rhinox: a Maximal commando as Northern white rhinoceros.
- Tongayi Chirisa as Cheetor.
- Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as Nightbird.
Other Autobots seen in the trailer are Bumblebee, Mirage, Arcee, and Scourage.
Most comments were also cheering for Peter Cullen, who will be reprising his Optimus Prime role at the age of 81. Optimus Prime always brings a range of emotions to the audience as theatres roar in applause for him.
After a delay from June 24, 2022, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is scheduled to be released in your nearest theatres on June 9, 2023.
