Kraven The Hunter is ready to Join the Ranks of Deadpool and Logan as the upcoming Marvel movie is all set to be R-rated.
Aaron Taylor Johnson, the actor behind Kraven, has announced the info with quite a bit of joy “Will it be rated R? F*** yes, it’s going to be rated R”
As recent superhero movies like ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ ‘Shazam,’ and ‘Morbius’ are making back-to-back flops, it is time to shake up the box office with a hero who has a fresh appeal.
Kraven’s flesh-ripping, blood-spewing carnage might be the key to breaking the chain of monotonous superhero films.
The latest trailer of the movie shows Kraven indulging in some gory scenes as he hunts down dangerous poachers. The scene where he rips off the flesh of his enemies is where you fully realize why he is an anti-hero.
The Kraven actor called the project “a Marvel movie grounded heavily in the real world. We know he is a fierce hunter, a highly trained killer.”
Kraven from the original comics is one of Spiderman’s ultimate foes. While the web-slinger will not be appearing in the upcoming movie, I hope we see a reunion between the two in a future installment. Although, I really hope Spidey doesn’t end up impaled.
Spiderman isn’t Kraven’s only enemy, as he has come into conflict with several heroes like Black Panther and Tigra.
So why did Marvel decide to give a standalone film to such a literally bloodthirsty villain?
Kraven might be barbaric and has sworn to hunt Spidey, but he has a great sense of honor. He treats his adversaries as equals until proven otherwise.
Marvel fans still claim that Kraven’s active hunt for Spiderman hinders his status as an anti-hero. The movie will have to change a lot of his traits to mold him into a desirable character. The success of Venom as an anti-hero movie might mean that Marvel will now bombard the film scene with multiple Spiderman spinoffs.
Fans worry that a Spiderman villain without the main man himself might not do so well. The fact that Kraven is a poacher does not save him from criticism either.
In an interview, Taylor Johnson confirmed the speculation by saying,
“He’s just a hunter, a human with conviction. An animal lover and a protector of the natural world. He’s a very, very cool character.”

It looks like major changes have been done to the character already since the Kraven in the comics is nowhere as kind-hearted and ‘lover’-like as Taylor assumes.
Kraven The Hunter is still an anticipated release for those who like a bit darker turn of events in their watch experience. Gore lovers will also equally be pleased, but let’s hope that the anti-hero title suits the hunter without him turning a full 180 degrees from his actual character.
Kraven The Hunter is all set to release on October 6, 2023, in your nearest theatres.
