According to Downdetector, a widespread outage that started at 10:14 am today has left thousands of Android users worldwide in a state of panic. With the platform down, many users have been unable to access, search, and download their favorite apps.
Downdetector – the website that tracks outages of services – has reported that the majority of users reported that they were unable to download apps from the Google Play Store. About 49% of the complaints came from users who could not download their favorite apps. The second most common problem was search issues, with 45% of users reporting they were unable to search for apps. The remaining 5% of users complained about issues with purchasing apps.
One user replied, “same here”.
The hashtag #GooglePlayDown is also gaining traction on Twitter.

The tech giant has not issued any official statement about the cause of the outage or even acknowledged it. Updates are up and down, you may need several attempts to get them. There’s definitely a problem on the server’s side. Like I can’t get Goodread and Android Webview.” This might be worth a shot for those who are feeling particularly tech-savvy.
But while some users are finding ways around the issue, others are still facing problems. Many users have reported getting the same error: Error retrieving information from the server. DF-DFERH-01. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when the issue will be resolved or what’s causing the problem.
